Though it didn't win the Pokka GT Summer Special at Suzuka, the Dunlop-shod HSV-010 led a good part of the race (on three separate occasions). It was the first time the tyre maker's been out front all season. Qualifying wasn't kind to the CALSONIC IMPUL GT-R, the blue machine would start 11th after having its fourth engine of the season installed over the course of the weekend. Meanwhile, coming off of their first ever win, the Real Racing Honda HSV-010 GT of Kodai Tsukakoshi and Toshihiro...

Although incredibly fun, the life of a Speedhunter is a busy one. It's rare for us to have an open weekend this time of the year, and when there is one what to we do? How about waking before the sun and heading to Cars & Coffee?...

I've just stumbled upon this trailer for the upcoming movie about the life of Ayrton Senna. The movie which is due to be released later this year promises an unprecedented look at Senna's life. It has the full backing of Senna's family and F1 management.

Senna, a three time F1 world champion was killed during the third round of the 1994 Formula One World championship at Imola. His legacy still lives on.

The weekend of the 700-km event at Suzuka, the "Pokka GT Summer Special" got underway in blistering heat and unrelenting levels of humidity. Clear favourites to win this, the longest race of the season, the ARTA Honda guys were looking for better fortunes than on the season-opener. Having won this race last year, there was confidence at the team of showing well. The pairing (Oshima/Ishiura) were also victorious at Round 3, the Fuji 400km event in May, and other long race on the calendar...

Yo Speedhunters! I have the lucky duty of driving the Falken Tire Nissan 350Z in Formula D. The 2010 season has been a bit of a struggle to say the least. My championship hopes were gone at this point in the season, so I was “all in” going to Las Vegas. I had nothing to lose, but a lot to gain for myself and Team Falken. This event was crazy, from the temps to the insane schedule that had us practicing from 9pm-1am, and eating dinner at 3am. Vegas…Where anything goes!...

This video gives a whole new meaning to tandem drifting. I have never seen so many cars together at one time drifting together. This is just awesome, enjoy.

As Speedhunters, we dedicate every last minute of our days to that hunt of speed. Being a Speedhunter is more than just a job, it's a lifestyle and perhaps more so it's a frame of mind. It's something you cannot turn off in your head, it's always there lurking and waiting to pop up again and again. I've often found myself on nights out with friends, staring out of the club window daydreaming about being out in the dark, alone but for the body of steel around me, just driving....

After making it to the Formula Drift Long Beach season opener and Round 4 in Seattle, our small time Japan Auto FSR team managed to get back out for the third time in our rookie year. Formula Drift Round 5: After Dark was held at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, and all teams and drivers were bringing their A game as the championship was being reeled in. I was so happy to see our people there! I wanted to have them experience what Formula Drift was all about - the driving, the atmosphere, the heat (literally...

This A4 wagon belongs to Brian, he is one of the guys who runs Rotiform . When you run a business that sells wheels you better have a nice set yourself. So Brian opted for the NUE wheels in 20"x10 with a 3"step lip all round. To make them even more special he coated them in a candy teal finish with polished lips. -Jeroen Willemsen Rotiform

I'm not sure if any of you remember the first spotlight I dedicated to this car ? Right after I featured the car I got a notice that the car had been burned beyond recognition. But this year Team Edlinger returned with a newly built E30 with the same engine and gearbox but with a new shell. Underneath the car is pretty much the same as the old car but on the exterior a lot has changed. The first thing I noticed is that they removed the canards at the front and rear. The arch extensions have also...

What better way to demonstrate your drifting skills by knocking off bottles placed in a wall ? Yuta Akaishi was able to grab this sequence whilst visiting the Kita course at Ebisu during the Summer Drift Matsuri . One of Yuta's friends placed the bottles in the wall because the R32 kept coming closer and closer to the wall. There you go, precision drifting. Knocking the first pair of bottles off without even touching the wall itself. Gone and still just a few inches removed from crashing the...

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away... The "eh" team would win the first PGP Wars triple tandem competition with light speed entries and a few epic dirt drops. This story begins in Vancouver, British Columbia, where I have been living for the past month as a temporary Canadian. CJ Kofoed, also know as simply "CJ" or "CJ of the Mattely Crue", invited me down to PGP Motorsports Park in Kent, Washington for a triple tandem drift comp. CJ, also a temporary Canadian...

Hello Speedhunters and welcome to my Vegas Blog. Life is pretty busy at the moment with the Need for Speed D-Mac 86 taking up all my time back home. These FD events seem to come around pretty quickly. But, what better stress relief after 12 hours on a plane than sitting into a 800hp drift car and ripping up some Azenis 615K’s! The Saturn Sky looked great as usual! Its a credit to the guys at ASD its like they re-paint it between events. It never ceases to amaze me how much work these guys do...

It's that time again. With the success of the two past events it's only right that JDM Allstars pays its annual visit to London for round four of the championship ... Wembley. Drifting under the gaze of the enormous (by UK standards) Wembley Stadium is the highlight of many drivers seasons, so it is always well subscribed with entries. The start of the track is blind to spectators, so the cars burst into the arena in a cloud of smoke and noise over a small bump... ... into a fast transition...

At the M.I.V.W event last month, I was invited by Oliver Verheij to attend the VW Fanatics show that he helped organize. The show was held on a field adjacent to a large lake, making it feel like the Dutch Wörthersee. It was a really nice event with a laidback feel thanks to the music in the background and the people that attended the show. Too bad the weather was against us but that is something you can't control. This new Beetle looked quite menacing with it's 20 inch BBS wheels and...

Like a scene from a Bond Movie or a stunt that D*ck Dastardly might pull, this is a novel method of keeping another competitor behind. Last weekend's FIA GT1 World Championship round at Nurburgring saw a mid field duel between these modern day Wacky Racers. Enrique Bernoldi in the Vitaphone Maserati MC12 has just been tapped by Richard Westbrook in the Matech Ford GT. So of course he hits the flame thrower button...................... It was a case of "Drat, drat, and double drat!"...

With Wembley featuring a small yet brutal jump on the entry to turn four, I thought it would make a cool sequence post ... James Deane crests the rise fully compressed with Luke Fink in hot pursuit ... ... a split second later he is fully airborne sideways ... ... into a 'Dukes of Hazzard' Style landing. Into turn four as Luke Fink takes the compression ... ... and launches into the air. - Ross.
