Check this out, it was posted by an 86 guy named Rich on the Club4AG forums. Apparently, Rich found this thread about a custom 4AG built from SCRATCH on Scale4x4RC.com. I think it is soooo amazing!!! The builder of this scale 4AGE, Mike Villena, is fabricating all the pieces from scratch! This isn't a model kit - it's actually hand made from customized pieces of styrene, which he custom cut and formed with incredible precision and accuracy! I can't believe it. It seriously looks like the real engine block that's sitting in my garage. It is so perfect, and it wasn't made with a computer or CNC type of machine!
If you look at the other photos, you can see Mike customizing the
engine internals out of what looks to be round plastic styrene tubes
(like straws) and sheets of styrene. I was just dumbfounded when I saw
this. I think it's sooooo cool and I don't understand how anyone could
make something like this by hand, without a CNC machine, die casting or
molding the parts or something! Amazing. Seriously!
Look at the rough styrene block, with all the photos of real 4AG blocks. It looks PERFECT and real, doesn't it?!
