This past weekend the Rudskogen Motorsenter packed to the brim, for Gatebil, one of the biggest events in Norway. The idea behind Gatebil is simple, choose a track, invite a lot of drivers and cars from around Europe and voila we have ourselves a event. In Europe a lot of shows hire drifters or special cars to perform, but with Gatebil it's the other way around. People want to come there and show the people what they got. My guess is it's because of the girls... Norway is famous for their gorgeous women.

But of course the main attraction for us guys are the cars, right? One of the cars that got my attention was the Audi you see in the picture above. It really has the biggest spoiler I have ever seen.

I'm not a big fan of Mercedes, but cars like this 190 certainly get my appreciation.

As you can see by the starting grid, there are lots of different cars present.... From home built cars to full blown race cars.

Norway is also home to some JDM built cars like this Nissan S15, it is powered by 600bhp 2JZ engine. It was constructed by D1 Pro Shop, Good Road in Japan and brought to Europe by JDM Garage in Norway.

Here's another picture of that mad Audi Quattro, can this be considerd as the ultimate dirtdrop?

After the daytime event, the party goes on through the night. What do you guys think these people are cheering about?

Rod told me I couldn't post any naked ladies, so this will have to do LOL.

Old versus new; a Quatrro with a 5 cylinder turbo engine build by Dahlback takes on a fully race prepared BMW Z4 M Coupe.

Matte or flat black cars seems to be all the rage nowadays. Did you noticed the side exit exhaust?

Fredric Aasbo going sideways in his Toyota Supra.

This S14 has seen competion in the D1 and was sold by Drivingsports in Japan. The car has a Vertex Ridge bodykit and features a fully build SR20

At first I thought this was a replica WRC Ford, But after seeing the intercooler mounted so far backwards I think it's the real deal. Just imagine how far the engine sits, it looks like the driver must be sitting right next to it.

Another spectacular dirtdrop made by this BMW E30

Lovin' the Focus WRC!  I wish the Benz 190 was a bigger deal in the US, its got that boxy flared look many of us love.  Just not many who think Luxury can go fast (besides BMW) I guess.

apparently it makes something like 800 bhp

is there any video footage from the event? it would be quite amazing to hear these cars running wide-open-throttle :O

The Focus was over from Ayrshire in Scotland its owned and built and raced by Andrew Gallacher from a pile steel tubing to the monster you see above it has full M sport carbon fiber body work, 6 speed sequential gear box, 670bhp Cosworth YB engine, and weighs in at full race weight of 1080kg's if I remember correctly. It is a monster of a car and recently took the lap record at Knockhill for a saloon car, If you have a few hours to spare this follows the full build of the car passionford.com/.../showthread.php

Jeroen - the Focus is the Andrew Gallacher Motorsport Focus. It's carbon panels, nearly 700bhp and 4wd. Built in Scotland.

Some info about the build here - www.passionford.com/.../showthread.php

The S14a kit is a mix of two types of Uras kits by the way.The rear bumper and skirts are TypeS and the front bumper is the Type4. The car even features on Uras' website but with a complete TypeS kit ;)

Normally the sr20 is taken out of a (crashed) S15 and put in another car of a different brand, for instance the Toyota AE86. Funny to see an example the other way around: a S15 with a 2JZ engine, which is probably taken out of a Supra or Aristo!

If there was a UK version of this event it would suck.

Our cars arnt mad enough.

Our drivers are no way good enough.

Our women look like *** compared to most of them there.

Health and Safety rules in the UK would mean 90% of what makes the show as good as it is, on and off the track, impossible to happen.

Gatebil rules.

The Ford Focus IS NOT a WRC, its better! :)

Totally custom made from scratch by Andrew Gallacher in Scotland. He got an all carbon fibre WRC bodykit from M-sport and custom built his own space frame chassis for the bodykit to go on to, so its not even a focus really. Its got a 670BHP Cosworth YB engine.

Full details of the build from start to finish can be found here passionford.com/.../showthread.php

hardly better than a real Focus WRC.. I think Andrews budget would end on the suspension development to a WRC car, if even enough to it. Nice car thou.
