VW website 'Edition 38' held their annual Show and Shine event last
weekend for VW group owners, and it was up to the usual high standards associated with the site. There were some great examples of clean almost stock looking cars and the show highlighted that many 'Dubbers' have taken this
route with older VW's.
I had a look at a few forums in the week and came across some great photos.

The first images I'm showing are from 'SnapCornia' on the Edition 38 forums. These are great quality. Make sure you check out his Flickr album for more great shots. There are simply too many to show here.

The Golf Cabriolet was a popular choice back in the 70's and early 80's. Its rare to find such a clean example. The Metallic Blue is great.

Older Volkswagens were in attendance too. This is the VW Type 3 (VW 1500/1600). When I was a kid, a neighbour had one of these, but it was never this cool!

It seems the smooth clean look is popular for the Mk4 generation of the Golf. Deep Metallics being another favourite.

I always wanted a VW Corrado when I was younger. Never got around to it, but this is a great example. As you can see, the weather was changeable during the weekend, but the water beads show how well its been cared for.

Clean Mk1 Golf's were very popular at the show. The 'N' Registration here, shows that this is one of the very first Golfs in the UK. It will have been registered in late 1974, or early 1975. This retro look, complete with roof-racks are very popular!

This is a rare find, the Audi 50. This was Audi's version of the first generation Volkswagen Polo and was only available in mainland Europe. If I remember correctly, it had a few extras, but it was literally a Polo with Audi badges. Very clean. Note the Belgian plate on this car.

Audi and Bentley wheels have been popular additions for many years on VW's. A distant relative of the Beetle in the background!
The remaining images are from Markie68, a member of SEATCupra.net.

We've featured the VW Lopo a couple of times already on Speedhunters. You can't miss this vibrant lowered GTi

The VW Polo is the next model up in the range. Another clean example. Note the Black roof, mimicking a M3 carbon roof perhaps? Great contrast with the White bodywork.

Flat Black is a popular colour finish, but a number of people have been experimenting with other colours.
I've seen unsuccessful Flat Blue and Red (both Solstices I think) cars at SEMA before, but a new shape Orange Impreza really impressed me at SEMA 2008. This Golf has a darker, richer Orange than the Impreza I saw.
I like the contrast with the blacked out wheels and grilles and mirrors, but they should have added Black to the B-pillar and the quarter light frame. Do you like it? I can imagine it polarizing opinion across Speedhunters.

This is the VW Caddy, based on the Golf chassis. These sized vans are popular in Europe, although most don't look as nice as this!
North Americans better get use to these smaller vans, Ford is alledgely bringing out the similar sized Transit Connect out next year. I wonder if VW would follow?

SEAT is a popular sporty, but budget brand in the Volkswagen Group Portfolio. This is a Series 3 SEAT Ibiza Cupra from the late 90s. This is loosely based on the previous generation Polo chassis.
I liked this era of SEAT's with the Alfa Romeo inspired grille. Bright yellow is the most popular colour for Cupra's.

It looks like it was a good show, despite the weather. if you have any photos of the event, don't forget to post them in our forums.
I'll leave you with this shot from Markie68 of car dedication. A true Speedhunter!
