For our second post on the Langley Cruise, I thought I'd focus on 'Imports'. I was surprised at the selection at the show. I assumed it would be an all American show, but the show had a very eclectic mix.

As you can see from theses images, European and Japanese cars such as the Datsun 510 and Fiat 500. I regret selling mine when I immigrated to Canada, so you'll have to put up with my indulgence for Fiat 500 images and posts!

There was a great selection of Datsun 510's. I wasn't aware of these cars before I moved over here. I don't think they made it to Europe, but they were quick nimble cars in their day.

Note the strengthening tube, forward of the suspension mounts. Required because of lowering and increased camber apparently.

Here's one for Antonio, a Toyota Corolla (E20 series) Wagon from the early 70's. If your interested, an image of the engine in my Flickr album

Just as I was leaving on Friday night, I saw this great Toyota Celica whizz by. Didn't see it again The whole town was over-run with classics all weekend, they easily outnumbered modern chariots.

The Datsun 240Z was a popular Japanese exhibit. Four examples were on show. This one from a local 'Z' specialist was very clean

This 'Z' was very clean with its side stripes painted on. I'm sure I've seen these stripes before, so maybe they were stock.

This was tucked away, a convertible 240Z. Apparently its a one-off. I hadn't seen one before.

The 1st gen Civic owners club had a number of Civics on show and they were gaining quite a bit of interest. I really liked this local Red 3 door, complete with JDM fender mirrors and white wheels.

This Civic from south of the border was V/TEC powered and really looked the part with the bright 70's Orange paintwork.

This car really helped put Honda on the map in Europe.

Speaking of Europe, there were a number of European cars at the show. This VW Beetle was the nicest. Great stance and finish.

A number of VW Vans were also on display, three generations in this image.

I've always had a soft spot for the Rover P5. A grand awesome looking car. Its such a shame that 40 years later, Britain wouldn't have a car industry.

This Alfa GTV was Quebec registered. I can only assume it was trailered! All was not as it seemed as it was powered by a Ford power plant!

Last but not least, my favourite, a couple more images of the Fiat 500. This was quite a tidy example and is local (I need to find the owner!) It was situated on a side road, but everyone who walked past stopped and looked, including this guy...

I don't think he will fit!
All in, a great show and this will be an annual pilgrimage (if a 3 mile drive can be called that) from now on.Lots more images in my Flickr album, linked below.
