Ever since I borrowed a friend's Corolla at D1 New Jersey to battle Ueno in 2007, I have a special place in my heart for AE86's. I have even bought 2 of them since: one rally spec, and one street that is rotting because I can't decide what to do with it but I don't want to get rid of it and chance not finding another one in such good shape. Since it is coming to the end of Toyota month I thought I would share these pictures (I hope I am allowed) that I just got from my leprechaun friend and Team Falken Tire teammate, Darren McNamara. This is his AE86 N2 that he resurrected from the dead. It is probably one of the most mean looking and to the point Corolla's I have ever seen and I bet it is crazy fun to drive. While it doesn't have a ton of HP, it only weighs 1500 lbs after he installed the carbon he made at his shop MCNSport.com. He said it's the lightest AE86 he knows of out there. What do you all think?

I really doubet the weight. 1500LB. is more like Dry weight. with out gas and driver

still a Dry weight 1500lb still sounds too light..... For a unibody car.

a Stock 86 weight about 2200lb. he shave almost 700LB ....................................

Dont get me wrong...  This is car fit my style very much.. (I am a track only guy).

Sweet car, weight in kg is around 700 kg's I think. My one weighes in around 850 and is stripped to nothing.

When I was up at mcnsport and lifted the back end of this thing I couldn't belive how light it was, and now even lighter from when I last saw it. Pockets cut out, wheel well cut out, CF doors, dash, frp hood, wings, rear 1/4s, bootlid, lexan windows, front cut away, heater matrix and A/C units gone.. I don't think this car can get any lighter! awesome car.

I highly doubt this car weight 1500 lbs.

Like stated above, a stock AE86 is in the 2100-2200 lbs (give or take)....I'd like to see this car on a Longacre scale.
