Many of us dream (with me pleading guilty on all counts) of one day owning a Bentley, Rolls Royce, Ferrari, Pagani, Lamborghini, or Bugatti. But, if you think realistically, a whole many of us, will never own a real luxury car or a real exotic, supercar or hypercar. All that exquisite luxury, with a seemingly infinite amount of power, soul, and passion comes at a terrible price --quite literally, at that.

Enter Ernie. Like many of us, Ernie would love to own a super car, hyper car, mid-life crisis car, but he's come to the realization that, really, it is almost impossible. He's a guy that has worked on and built countless amounts of race and show cars (mostly SC400s). He's seen much soul and passion in his days, but he's never actually been able to possess such qualities in a car that is his very own. This car is Ernie's dream car. It embodies his passion and love he has for his favorite car, the Lexus SC400 (or Toyota Soarer for you super car nerds out there).

The original motor has been ripped out and has been replace with a 1JZ with a plethora of Greddy innards installed. This motor is pushing out horse power in super car territory. It puts down 650 horses!

The interior has also been kept fairly stock, but what has been upgraded was to accentuate the luxury sport feeling up a notch. I really do appreciate the "lived-in" look of this interior. It has all the hints that this car really is used everyday.

Before the shoot, I told Ernie that if I was to photograph this car, he would need to lower it another inch or so, and this is the result of the lowering. After stepping back and taking a look at the car in it's much more low state, Ernie agreed with me that it does look better. This fantasic stance has been brought to you buy Stance Coilovers and a set of Volks GTV custom painted flat black and gloss black lips.

This car sports geniune Vertex kit. That's a rarity these days in the states since there's, really, a knock off of any parts imaginable. Props for that!

The overall lines of the SC400 are already elegant, but the addition of the Vertex kit ups the beauty even more.

If you were to see this car in your rear view mirror on the motorway, the only option is to get out of the way. The whole front end looks absolutely menacing!

The wing mirrors really have become the offical Speedhunters.com sticker location!

Some of you might scoff at the idea that this really is Ernie's dream car, but you have to look at both sides of the coin. Can you, realistically, in your lifetime, really afford the car that you really dream for? Many of us would say no, and so would Ernie. A lot of us drive our modified cars because we know we can't ever really possess the soul and passion of a Ferrari or Lamborghini. If you were to really own such cars, your stocks invested in cool would instantly plummet. But when you meet someone that is passionate about their car and the soul they've put into it, you start to realize that Ferrari isn't the only one that holds such qualities.

Everyone can have their own Lamborghini Murciélago LP670-4 SV, or Rolls Royce Phantom, you just have to realize that you're already driving it.

Linhbergh, are you serious? Did you actually CHOOSE this car? It looks lame! What's up with the Midwest style painted hood and bumper? Do you even know about cars? Care about quality? A corporate NRG sponsored car? NRG makes garbage parts! NRG bucket seats? NRG carbon shift knob? NRG garbage looking Taiwan spec steering wheel? Come on Speedhunters, you need some quality control. Don't you care about this site anymore?

It's pretty sad that this Ernie guy's dream car would consist of garbage parts. FAIL. With the big and uncool looking NOS Energy Drink sticker on the windshield, misaligned GReddy sticker on the side windows, bumper lights missing, missing speaker covers on the doorpanels and junk sitting in the car...

Come on man. REALLY?

JZZ30 Mania, people like you need to have a hit from a 2x4 in the teeth. I think it's safe to say this car isnt done yet. He has it painted the way he wants it. I'm sure we dont all have the same taste in paint and cars as you. And quite frankly thats fine. From a few years of test and tune products, NRG makes some decent stuff for the cost. And since when has Greddy been garbage? They have been creating top notch auto parts long before you got into cars I'm sure. You need to take a step back and develop a little respect for others hard work. O yeah, wheres your car at?

I own a jzz31 and i love the car. However, why is that vertex kit fitted improperly in the rear quarter panel shot? Also, JZZ30 mania has a point... no speaker cover? I mean nice 1jz swap but that is a dime a dozen in SC land. All I have to say is, I've seen better.

My dream cars are EVO, STi or e46 M3.  :)  I always like stories like this that have the human factor and owners side.  More!

That is not an authentic Vertex kit, it's a knockoff... Look at the front grill placement.

The engine bay is feature worthy, but the rest of the car is sub-par. Rims are nice, that's about it.

Interior is blah. Face facts, there are a million nicer SC's that you could feature, I'm not sure you looked around much... Maybe this is just a paid advertisement for NRG or something...

First off... that is NOT an authentic VERTEX Kit. Just another cheap knockoff at best. The front grill opening is in the wrong location! Hey, I understand not everyone can afford the real deal... But don't go Bullishiing peeps saying your kit is authentic when its clearly not. Hey Ernie... ain't gotta lie to kick it! Paint scheme is definitely unique so props on that and the black Volks are pretty sick. SpeedHunters, I'm surprised you would feature a car as incomplete as this one! Any SC enthusiast can clearly see that he is missing a front grill side markers and fogs in his front bumper. Not to mention that the fitment of the FAKE VERTEX kit is horrible. Side skirts don't even line up right... SpeedHunters, I no that you need to pay the bills  but you can do better then this.

look at it from an uneducated standpoint, it has nice clean lines, a powerful motor and a pleasant looking interior, I think people should stop being so very picky

that said I don't really like the paint job, and it could do with some fogs

but I don't class it as trash because of it

lighten up guys

funny, sunnfun, industry1,ZachC, Leo,  and last but not least JZZ30 Mania ....You are all entitled to you own opinions... but it's actually kind of sad how people like you have such sad lives to try to even speak ill of anyone...especially for trying to target good people like Ernie....If you did your research before speaking you would know that it's because people like Ernie, who is actually recognized by the car industry and many others , that are helping "save" your precious car industry, making and breaking deals within the industry to reunite and rebuild so that companies within the industry can recover from the down fall our economy.... even the manufacturers you so call love....If you haven't noticed are struggling... so the only thing your really doing is bringing down this industry that is quite obviously what your lives revolve around.  For your information Ernie's very well known, and a very well respected icon in the car industry, even by legends quite beyond the league or statues that you feel you may be....  So have some respect... you may want to rethink the next time you feel the need to express your negativity to the world.... because in all honesty ... there are people that are trying to make a difference and there are people that choose to try to bring them down...so what category do you fall in?..........karma.

Karma - well said. At the end of the day we have to give some props out there to guys that are working their butts off to actually do something in this industry. This car is OK. It's better than most, but still missing a lot of things. But hey, he did it or tried to pull off a vision so let him enjoy his creation.

But this is about cars - not the guy behind the car. The car is OK. It's actually fun to look at in pics. The pictures make this car for sure. The car in person is OK but missing a lot of things. I am sure I will get flamed for this as well.

I'm glad that Ernie is lving his dream to take this car to the streets. I wasn't a huge fan of his NOS blue Sc300. I can't say I'm a fan of this car. I don't believe this is an actual Vertex kit. It'd be one thing if it wasn't mentioned. However to pass it off as a Genuine kit is definitely a disrespect to Ueno and Vertex.

NRG makes *** parts, period.

Mishimoto does the same. A "cleaver" Japanese name for an American company that makes the sh!t parts in China......and many JDM fanboy fall for it.

Luxury interior with bucket seats?....

....and the fact that it makes 650 hp doesn't mean sh!t......I rather have a 400 hp car built properly with genuine parts.

Other than that, the car looks average....I've seen millions SC with 1-2JZ engine....
