When Carl first saw this BMW E39 525d a few years back it was love at first sight. The car was stock and black but he had to pick it up. He drove it around for a few years with a few simple mods but recently decided for a full refresh including a conversion to white paint.

You'll see that this car is perfectly finished. The paint is as smooth as a baby's skin, the custom made carbon parts look like they are factory built by BMW itself.

Carl deserves loads of respect in the Belgian scene driving this car. I wish every modded car I get to shoot was as perfectly finished like this one!

Yes, this is custom work! Looks like factory new!

Carbon on white: absolutely perfect.

Livin' it large with OZ Futura 3piece wheels...

12x18 at the rear and 10x18 in the front; The fenders needed to be extented to cover the rims.

I just love the look of this car, its so fresh and clean.

The riding hight is well balanced, Carl can make full U-turns and the 12x18 and 10x18 never hit the fenders.

For the guys who are going to say 'show but no go'... Carl has planned some performance/engine works this winter.

Same on the inside, perfect finish. Black leather with white deco strips.

I hope Carl has some gloves so he doesn't mess up the steering wheel...

Why did it have to be a (slow) diesel? Car looks so good, but you'd probably just laugh if you'd hear it.

Beautifully executed. Money no object I'd piece an E39 M5 together with similar style.

Perfect? Get real. It's a nice car but that's all. I'd rather drive a completely stock M5 thanks.

Diesels are great daily drivers. I wish more were available in the states. Cheap AND torquey!

Hi guys!

Because Speedhunters loves featuring cars from all over the world, In Belgium (and most countries of Europe) are 75% of the cars diesels. On a car/modifying show more then half of the cars are diesel. I prefer petrol cars also but this is the reality in 2009. Another important reason why so many people drive diesel cars is because we can't upgrade our engines cause of the strict rules of the gouverment. We have to pass a technical control each year. So many people choose to drive economic. Also good to know, 1L feul costs around €1.350. Thats around $1.97 a litre.

No hard feelings but just wanted to say this to the diesel haters :-)

And like seaninc said: cheap and torquey!

A friend of me drives a Bmw E91 330D, ECU upgraded gives around 600NM...

Yea, I know about the rules in Belgium. That's probably also the reason why most of the cars in Belgium are more show then go, simply because they can't be tuned to 'go' (which sucks by the way, start a political party lol). Also you say that most people like to drive an economic car, because of money reasons (probably), but then they spend thousands of euros on mods, e.g. respraying the whole car etc. That just doesn't make sense. Here in The Netherlands we have to pay about 1.40-1.50 euros for a litre of RON98 fuel (jap import, so it won't run properly on anything less) and that doesn't stop anyone. But I just don't really like diesels lol, so that could be my problem too. I'm a petrolhead, not a dieselhead, mainly because of the sound. :)

Hi MichelM,

Yes, they spend indeed thousands and thousands of euros on optic mods. Engine mods arn't alowed. And if U rebuild your engine you must change it to stock every year for the technical control. And hey, I'm a petrol head too :-P

Hmm interesting car. Very clean looking. i appreciate the time and effort put into it, but I have to echo the other comments that it is a shame that it cannot be modified for more "go".

I am in love except the tire rim combo and white interior trim. Carbon leather would look way better, and costs about the same to do. Also I am not a fan of the stretch look on tires, esp BMW.  I know the e46 is stock like that (and I had to go to 285/30 r19 to get rid of the stretch)  The CF on the secondary intake is a Haman piece.  Please remove the M door sill please....
