A while ago, Drive and Fun (drive-and-fun.de), a company that specializes in specialty driving events hired me to take photographs at an event they organized for Nissan. The first evening included the European premiere of the Nissan 370z Roadster in front of selected guests from Nissan Club Switzerland as well as potential GTR customers.

The participants of the event were scheduled to have a day of instructed laps at the Nürburgring Nordschleife.

At the end of the day, I asked a friend of mine and who occasionally races the 24Hrs of Nürburgring, Harry Müller, to chase the Digi-Tec prepped stripped out Nissan GTR around the Nordschleife at race speed and line.

This is the footage from the two laps that ensued.

How can you expect people to like this stuff? How many clips do people have to see about the Ring? I don't know how many videos you guys posted lately about the Nurburgring......it's getting boring!

I find myself checking this site less and less, and for obvious reason....

Post something more original.

Did they really hire you ? cause they must be super foolish people to pay for it or the person that has hired you must be a relative of you cause its just a video of one car driving after an other one with a stationary installed camera in it and there are so many crapy sounds on the back ground that you dont really advertise anything by this except your carelessness to what you've made. Go back on the blog and find a video of BMW made by somebody for him self , not for money.

Wow, so you guys have a problem with people lapping the most difficult track IN THE WORLD?

@Alex- You hate on everything on this site, stop checking it completely, and sign up for it and show us your ride so we can see what a laughingstock it it.

@YEAH BOY- If you want a music video and not a driving video, go watch Fuse. This is fine with me.

This is a blog by people that like cars. It's their blog, they can post whatever cars/videos/random crap they want, don't hate them for it. Great job Rod, and all the Speedhunters crew! I rock the tee shirt you guys gave me in that contest all the time and still play with the RC car in my dorm room. Keep up the good work, can't wait for the next post.

Great video! The image is good and the two laps help analise the track and driving better than other videos. I find this chase action very good as the chasing driver did a great job at sticking to the rear of the GTR. In other "chase" videos, the chaser is a few cars or corners away from the leading car:)) Makes it look more like a "barelly keeping up with it" than a chase video. That being said, nice post:)

Am I really asking too much? No seriously!...how many vids have you seen about the ring in the past few months. How long does it take you before you get bored?

I'm interested in the Nordschleife so keep those in-car movies coming. What car was the chaser in?

@Alex- Yeah it is a lot too ask. You're asking Speedhunters to put stuff on their website, you're asking this guy to risk his $70,000 GT-R, you're asking Mr. Paleri to videotape it, anything I'm missing? Oh yeah, track fees, tires, gasoline. Get off your high horse, internet jockey. Get off of my favorite site.

The chasecar was a slightly fettled Nissan 370z. The GTR was stripped out and caged, I dont know the exact numbers, but all I know was that the GTR wasnt following the ideal line, and he slowed down a couple of times in the long straights. Harry did a great job at chasing though, sticking to the race line throughout the two laps. I have been hotlapping the Nordschleife for 4 years now and this was the first time I have had the chance to ask someone who knows what he is doing, to take a car within an inch of its life on one of the the most dangerous and respected tracks in the world. There is a reason why the place is called the Green *Hell* :)

The video is a personal input of mine, I was hired to just take photographs. :)

@ Michel NL: Have we ever talked at events? I always know you are there but I never got to talk to you I think :)

I am sorry, but with a proper driver (or one not backing up), the GTR would have clearly left the 370z in the dust...

Don't get me wrong, it's an interesting video, but I would think twice before calling it a "chase"...

THIS is a chase: www.youtube.com/watch

You clearly misinterpreted what I said. I don't mind watching races at the Ring at all (or people going fast); but lately, SP posted I don't know how many vids at the ring....and honestly.....they could have save some $$ and time and go shoot something else instead.
