Dropped VWs are a pretty common sight in the international euro scene but it's usually Golfs which are chosen as the starting point for projects; modified Passats rarely show, let alone brand new models. However Johnny Despagne's 2009 Passat CC was a mere 3 days old when it was given the air ride treatment. It's one reason why we continue to highlight the Belgian scene on Speedhunters, members of this car community just love to take showroom fresh Euro sedans and drop them right to the ground.... we like this!
Slammed out cars are no longer a hobby for Johnny, it's a pure passion... a way of living. I've known him for a long time now and every single time he buys a new car, its being dropped within a few days. He's seriously committed to this lifestyle.

When the air suspension is at its lowest point is really amazing how low the car looks. The bodylines of the CC allready look very low and in combination with the air suspension it's perfectly proportioned.

Some air ride Euro sedans have plenty of fender gap to get the rims up inside the body. But Johnny's wheels are pretty tight fitting.
The total look, the stance... is just amazing, a real show stopper! The front bumper on the car has been cleaned up to further bring out the lines of the car.

A USDM rear bumper has been placed on the car, normally the license plate space was provided for European license plates.

The 20" Carlsson wheels fit the car great; they're sized at 8.5 & 9.5 by 20. Tires are 225/30 Nankangs.
Johnny can almost drive on the car's lowest point, he just has to pump a little bit of air in the air bags to be able to roll. The air ride system is by the German company GAS.

A sports interior can't be missed on this car!

And yes, a diesel guys... economic, cheap to drive (especially with European fuel prices) and loads of torque!
