Here is another interesting car I spotted on my recent visit to the Daikoku PA. The Maserati Shamal is a pretty rare sight in any country, so seeing one fitted with what look like bronze Nismo LM GT4s (built by Rays Engineering) instantly got my attention. Stance wise it was pretty spot on, it could have maybe sat a little lower but the offset was just right. Made the whole car stand out even more. This is another one that get my thumbs up!

Easiest way to spot one is the "Shamal" plate on the rear pillar.

It is not a Ghibli, the rear fenders of a Ghibli are not as wide as these. Like Arnoud and Bryan stated, its a Shamal. You could have read this yourself while it says so between the front and rear window... A Ghibli might be pretty rare, the Shamal is even more exclusive. I love the design of both cars. What a shame that Maserati's from that period are technically crappy cars, way to much horsepower on the front wheels with a bi-turbo system that kicks in like crazy. A friend of mine had a Ghibli, he totalled it because he placed his foot on the gas pedal while entering a roundabout, the car decided to go over instead of around it!

The Shamal has the Gandini signature rear fenders, and is as all Maseratis rwd - the V8 twin turbo´s torque is killing the differential if abused, the rest is quit reliable if well look after.

I have had 3 Ghibli´s a 3200gt and a 430 all with no problems what so ever, treat them right and it´s fine.

A nice alternative to boring German cars.

The lip in the front and the seats are also not original, the original seats are are weird an cool as the car itself.

See now this thing deserves the Speedhunters attention. Doesn't matter what model it is, a Maserati is always quite awsome.
