Le Mans 24 Hours, Le Mans, France

One of the best things about long distance races is that you get the chance to stretch your legs, photographically speaking. You can try all manner of strange stuff, sometimes it works, sometimes not, it is largely subjective whether you or anyone else like the results or not. At least it is trying to capture the essence of the moments that have just been witnessed. Anything rather than endless stream of head on shots with long lens on P for Professional mode, Auto Exposure, Auto Focus, Auto Pilot............that ain't photography, it is being a data operator for a software geek in Chichibu.................

Nurburgring 1000kms, Nurburgring, Germany

Of course long lenses have their place........in the pits they work their brand of magic and give a different perspective.

Bonneville Speed Week, Bonneville Salt Flats, Utah, USA

What can one say about this amazing man and machine combo? Beyond cool..................

LMS Test Days, Circuit Paul Ricard, Le Castellet, France

And when all else fails there is always Adobe.........................yer actual man made global warming............

Not a police cruiser....................

LMS Spa 1000kms, Spa Francorchamps, Belgium

A 908 Hdi-FAP flies up Eau Rouge and Radillon and heads on to the Kemmel Straight.

Sebring 12 Hours, Sebring, Florida. USA

Sebring comes alive each March with one of the great races in the world. A win here is as hard earned as any, the old B-17 training base will shake out any problems lurking in a car. The Ulmann Straight at night with prototypes and GTs wrestling for space.

LMS Algarve 1000kms, Portimao, Portugal

A new circuit opened in 2009 and praise be it was not designed by Hermann Tilke, was not flat and was not in the Middle or Far East. Situated in the hills above the Algarve resort of Portimao, in Southern Portugal, it was an instant hit with drivers and photographers alike.

Le Mans 24 Hours, Le Mans, France

The well drilled Audi pit crew think nothing of having two cars pit at the same time.

Le Mans 24 Hours, Le Mans, France

The Essex Porsche Spyder powers through the Ford Chicane on Saturday evening, on the way to a class victory.

More later.

I was at Le Mans this year too! I suck at photography though, and my hard drive crashed taking almost all my pics with it :( Hopefully I can afford to go back this year and try again.
