Slava hails from the great state of Colorado and comes to us with a simple request - to help him fire up Colorado's drifting community.

In his words -

"So the drift scene here in Colorado is starting to die off. Me and a few others are trying to keep people excited about this s___ again so we can all have more than two events a year. A lot of people are quiting for whatever reason and less drivers just means that we cant hold as many events because of lack of moneys. Posting some of CO's hard hitters might help get people excited about drifting in Colorado again just from seeing us on Speedhunters"

Here are some of the cars he's talking about -

Slava's own FC RX7.

Alex S14.

CJ's FC.

Travis' FC drop top.

No info about the cars, but the pictures are more than enough to send the message. So, are you CO boys excited yet?

I know I am.

Eh? I never knew Colorado HAD a drift scene.

I've been living in the CO for 8 years.

Where the heck have I been? Jeez!

The last Drift session of any sort i went to

was NOPI Drift but even that was so-so due to the

layout of the course where it seemed like they had difficulty

with the course itself. Car Shows? Mediocre.

Maybe if Speedhunters or any Mainstream

Car Shows stopped by to liven the place up

a bit it would kick start things more? (say YES :D!!!)

Hopefully something good happens.

Hey did that 240 used to be white? I might've known the

dude that had it before he sold it.

Nice FC too! Props son! PROPSSSS!

Running events takes a lot of effort and dedication. Don't give up and keep on trucking. Get creative and figure out how to network people to rebuild a stronger group of core workers.

If you need help with resources to run events SCCA has a drift program that has the lowest cost insurance around ($10 to $15 per driver paid based on actual attendance after the event).

Check http://nwr-scca.org/drifting/ for details and use the contact info there for more information if interested.

The reason the scene died is because no one wants to drive 70+ miles just to go to PPIR for a few hours or pay over 100$. It used to be cool before NASA got involved and this fence crap and paying $15 to get into the "pits" sucks. When there were no fences, up in Greeley in the rodeo parking lot was where it was at. Don't get me wrong PPIR FTW, but seriously it's bs with all the money involved and regulations now.

Everyone is too busy tuning out honda's with 50 foot rear wings still in CO, that's the problem. And about evryone and their mother bought every 240 up except for the ghey automatics and smashed them into cement barriers or turned their engines into melted soup by pretending to drift.  CO's drift scene was never big to begin with. Maybe 40-50 cars ever showed up for a drift event(that actually participated and that's at the most)(more often like 20-30). People just got over it because drifting was just another fad here. I'm guessing it will move to time attack/lap battles based on what the mags are doing. I wished it had gone to Touge instead lol far more interesting and Riskey! That's why we have mountain passes guys! Unless you don;t want to fall 14,000 feet to an untimely demise because your e-brake got to fried from trying to be the next Tsuchiya........ I say tricycle drift down a mountain pass FTW !!!!
