NEW CARS>>THE MAZDA MX-5 BLACK & MATTE EDITION

A friend of mine sent me a link this morning showing a new MX-5 special edition from Mazda of France. Designed by LK Paris, the concept seems to be capitalizing on the flat black trend, which is apparently alive and well.

I'm not sure if the friendly little Roadster is the best candidate for the flat black treatment, but it's an interesting idea nonetheless.

What do you think?

I know some really cool flat black NA's but the NC just doesn't look mean enough to back up the color.

Skip the chrome, lower it and add a frontlip to start with....

But "selling" it out on every car is making it bad.

I saw a Rolls Royce in this colour black and kinda ruined it, the colour.

They look nice on drift cars and the Famous Rauh Welt S15 and the R35 GTR + a few exotics, but not every car.

Needs more low.

The chrome accents and the ride height kill it. If it were lower and fully blacked out- even the headlight bezels, then it would look good. I wonder what this would look like with a hard top kit (something along the lines of the spoon kit for the s2000). Has a lot of badassness potential
