Dino and I spent today conducting shoots at two of Sydney's top tuning and drag racing shops: Croydon Racing and Gas Motorsports. I hope that you've been following along with the updates I've been posting to the Speedhunters Facebook page today with some of the highlights.

Along the way we actually ended up the wrong shop and stumbled across the following scene purely by accident. It's the Pan Speed RX7 on the dyno, getting mapped to use full race fuel. It seems like the team is going all out to wring the final bits of performance out of the car.

Are we getting excited yet Australia?

YES! It's weird to see you documenting what is local to me. I consider this a website for o/s news on motorsport and car culture and trends. Very interesting haha

What's the deal with a basically tubular frame V8 super car being allowed to run at the last minute when the Revolution carbon FD was excluded for exactly the same issue?

A guy I know mentioned that the V8 Supercars are virtually a cage a skins of metal...

@ WTF BBQ.

Bit more research required for you buddy. The car that Mal Rose was running was a VY Commodore Supercar and they are a unibody deal. I personally went and had a look to be sure prior to accepting the entry. Sure they have a fabricated 5 link rear and different suspension but they ARE NOT TUBE FRAME. I believe the current spec V8 Supercars are a different deal altogether though. Whatever the case we will be carefully reviewing our rules in the next 12 months as I would also love to have cars like the Revolution RX7 here but it would not have been fair change the rules this year after we had laready released them. Didn't matter anyway as he was miles away from the top teams.
