How can you not love engineering that transcends function and be pure art? Head over to the desktops section to grab this bit of automotive pornography in standard and widescreen format.

Apologies if I sound like a nerd, but for something to be art it cannot have any other function than itself. That is, a tuned car serves a certain function, regardless of how fast, exotic or beautifully executed it may be. So if I were to look for art in those pictures, I'd only consider the artistic qualities of your pictures Linh, not the car itself. There's no doubt that UR do an excellent job of modifying exotics into mega-HP beasts unmatched by almost anything on the road today, but stating that their work is art would be like saying that a very expensive tailor from Saville Row is an artist because of his work's quality. In other words, it's your pictures that turn that car into an artform, and with all the respect, not the UR guys themselves.

Dictionary ART:.  the products of man's creative activities; works of art collectively, esp of the visual arts, sometimes also music, drama, dance, literature, sculpture or creative works.

This is art. Art is in the eye of the viewer. With all due respect this machine was designed with many functions to for fill in its life. To say this vehicle serves only one purpose is very disregarding to creative’s who have build it and shows a distinct disregard and no understanding of design, art, and engineering and there close relationship.

Looks like candy, but I don't understand why they didn't design the exhausts better by crossing them over/under or something.

Tony 240Z, I think you are wrong, but nice observation. If you take a look at other arts you will see that greatest examples are great because they have function, mostly sending some message. Architecture, painting or movies... For example architecture is made for gathering people, but biggest part is art (Frank Gehry- Bilbao Guggenheim). Good paintings have some message (Francisco Goya- The Third of May 1808, or graffiti by Banksy). Rap music about politics. Documentary movies which show ice melting... so art can have function and in my opinion it's one of the most important things.

Its probably the worst place for an air filter and they would gain more by having exhaust pipes going across instead of routing them 180 degrees. It would be awesome if intake was routed inside the rear fender so there is some plastic betweet the wheel and the airfilter and at the same time would make some vents at the top of the fender so air steam going over the car would pass across the filter. Its just an opinion so dont turn evil once you read it BOYS.

The Gallardo has an air vent right on the top of the rear fender.

In this picture you can't see it.

I think they used that vent to create a dynamic air intake.

Otherwise it would have been stupid to put air filters in such a little and crowded space, and I don't think that people who are able to design a Lambo twin turbo engine conversion are stupid.
