Carrying on our sleeper theme I wanted to quickly showcase Peter Björck's 2JZ powered 1975 Volvo 245 wagon. Madness!

If there's one thing to be said about the internet, it is the fact that it has made the world, no, the universe a smaller place --a much, much smaller place. With the simple click of a mouse, you can be instantly teleported to China, England, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea or to our neighboring star system, Alpha Centauri. When talking about the automotive world, that too has shrunk because of the binary web of input and outputs. It's brought together enthusiasts from all walks of the vast...

Andy at Powervehicles has really been busy bringing us all these scoops from Ebisu Circuit! After Kumakubo's New D1 Laurel it's now the turn of Daigo Saito's 3.2L, 800 HP, 2JZ-powered Altezza, the car he will be using during the course of the year in the Formula D Asia series. The Altezza sports the sort of stance we have come to expect from Saito. He was only there for a short practice but Andy captured plenty of action including some detail shots of the engine, interior and suspension. Don't forget to turn up the volume!

These days at car shows, there's a good number of cars that are built just for that purpose. Then there's others, like Alex Mills and his Nissan 350z. People who want a car to look good and also be able to practice the art of speedhunting as much as possible. Let's cut to the chase. This 350z no longer sports its original Nissan VQ35 but instead a Toyota powerplant, a 2JZ-GTE... ...with a Precision Turbo and 1000cc injectors which produces around 600 horses. The swap would be considered...

It's not every day you get thrown the keys to a one-off demonstration car, but that is precisely what happened to me on my last visit to Kazama Auto. I was just there to grab some shots of the wild Lexus IS350 that Kazama-san built for last year's Tokyo Auto Salon, but little did I know I would come away from this particular shoot with a silly grin on my face...a grin that lasted for days! I remember vividly when my expression changed. As I slowly drove around the Saitama-ken countryside...

A few hours after I got back to Long Beach, from Pomona and the SO-CAL Speed Shop, I went out with Marc and Eric from Twins Turbo Motorsport to taste some fine local cuisine at their favourite Korean restaurant. The Twins are rather clever, politically minded people, and the conversation is always quite spirited and interesting... So unless you have some debating skills in your arsenal, it's perhaps best to keep the subject on cars! I couldn't help myself though, and got into a lengthy discussion...

I was asked recently to pour over some JDM magazines and get a feel for them. I have to say, I love seeing the high level of tune on the JDM rides in the magazines. They have such a diverse scene over there. Truth be told, the majority of the drift scene appears to revolve around Nissan Silvia's and 1 & 2-JZ powered Toyotas, but there is also a fair bit of coverage to be had on the other players in the scene as well. Drift Tengoku as a magazine drops right into the mix as a more feature focused...

Man, this car was sure fun to drive! To be completely up front with you, I don't have a ton of photos of this car - because most of the time I spent with it, I decided to drive it rather than document it. The car you're looking at is a JZS161 (in the USA, it's a Lexus GS300 or GS400, depending on which engine it has) - a fairly common car to see in Southern California. Especially in the area where I live, I see a ton of VIP "work in progress" JZS161s, and even **sigh** some...

It's no secret that I love Lexus brand vehicles. So of course I was excited when I heard that Discount Tire Direct and Falken Tire would be working together to campaign a Lexus IS350 in the Formula Drift Series. When I first saw the mockups of the graphic scheme (it was shown to me by a Falken employee before the car had its graphics applied), I wasn't too thrilled to be honest. I dislike the arch looking graphic on the side of the car, it doesn't do any justice to the car's naturally...
