9ff unveiled this new version of the GT9 at the recent Essen Motor Show. It was specifically built for a customer that wanted a car that looked good and could hold its own on the track. 9ff dubbed the car CS or Club Sport. It's based on the original GT9 that was unveiled at the 2007 Essen Motor Show. The GT9 CS is an evolution of the GT9 that was built for top speed runs. After the GT9 came the GT9-R that I featured last year during the My Car Show in Dortmund. This CS is the latest addition...

Eleven months ago at the Tokyo Auto Salon , we showcased what the top Japanese car builders had to offer the world. Then just a few weeks back, we were treated to the automotive delights of the American SEMA show . And now it's time for the Europeans to display their wares. Welcome to the Essen Motor Show 2011, a showcase of the European tuning, aftermarket and motorsports industry.... ... with a bit of a slant towards German metal. I'm sure all of you are familiar with VW modified cars and...

While the Artz sleepers that we've been looking at recently have somewhat tame power figures, the same cannot be said about this machine: the TH2RS, just an ordinary VW Transporter.... running 800hp and 663 pound feet of torque that is! Built by Berlin tuning firm TH Automotive, it features the drivetrain from a late model 911 complete with 9ff tuned turbo engine. Madness!
Check the video to see Porsche racing legend Walter Röhrl flogging the beast.

I have visited the Essen Motor Show numerous times but this year had to be one of the greatest. The amount of cars was enormous and it is starting to look like the European Sema Show. A few of the biggest tuners from Germany were also present like Brabus and Techart. I will showcase their cars in two separate posts. If you haven't seen the show yet I highly recommend going there, the show lasts until 6 December. Let's quickly start with the cars that were on the show floor. One of the stars...

The other 9ff car I found at the My Car Show was this GTurbo 1200. As the name suggest it has 1200BHP making it one of the most powerful Porsches in the world. The car competes in the 0-300-0 km/h challenge organized by Sport Auto and Dunlop. This year 9ff competed with a GTurbo 1000 but for next year they have this new version, the GTurbo 1200. It all starts with a Porsche GT2 that is taken apart and rebuilt with lighter materials. The side and rear windows have been replaced by Macrolon items....

The first car I saw after I exited the press center at the My Car Show was this 911. I quickly set up my camera and started shooting. Two men approached me whilst I was shooting and recognized the Speedhunters stickers I had on my tripod. It became clear to me that both the men were working for 9ff , the builder of this car. After a quick introduction they showed me the car and explained a bit about it. This car is the latest incarnation built by 9ff for a new customer. It is not the ‘regular'...

This was my first time visiting the My Car show in the Dortmund Messe, right next to the enormous Borussia Dormund football stadium. The show is organized by the same people that are responsible for the Tuning World Bodensee . The first car I laid my eyes on was this very special Porsche 911, although I'm not sure if I can still call it a Porsche. I'll have a full feature shortly on this very special car. This Porsche built by 9ff is called the GTurbo 1200. It was on the Dunlop Motorsport...

I've seen a lot of this car recently as I've been spending a bit of time at Paul Vlasblom's garage for my own BMW E30 and have been planning to do a feature for some time. Unfortunately though, I've had to wait for the winter weather to clear before I could organize a shoot. So as soon as we got a sunny day here in Holland I pulled out my camera to take some snaps. The car is a Porsche Cayenne that's been tuned by Techart and is officially called a Magnum... I'm not sure if...

Let's continue my coverage of the Essen Motor Show with my second installment. Looking for Japanese cars on a German car show proved to be difficult. I found two S14s and this was one of them. It features what looks like a URAS bodykit and can be seen in action during the King Of Europe drifting championship. The wheels are made by Alutec, a major sponsor in drifting events throughout Germany, and go by the name Toxic. Another car I was looking for was the new Volkswagen Scirocco. But again I...

OK here's our second take on the Essen Motor Show. This time we'll start with the rear of the Audi R8 LMS. I just love how aggressive it looks. I just read a report that Audi will debut their R8 V10 street car during the Detroit Motor Show- I'm really curious at how it will look. What do you guys think of this Brabham BT92? The wheels aren't really my taste but the bodykit looks very nice and flows well with the rest of the car. Like I said in my previous post there is not a whole...

Maybe the name 9ff doesn't ring a lot of bells, but when I say they have built a car that is called the Veyron Killer I hope I have your attention! Because it is Porsche month on Speedhunters I present to you the 9ff GT9. This car is the brainchild of Jan Fatthauer, founding father of 9ff. The name 9ff stands for 9 to relate to Porsche and the double f stands for Farhzeugtechnik Fatthauer.
The numbers that accompany this car are mindboggling. Top speed is 409km/h so that's faster than a Veyron but maybe even more astonishing is it's acceleration. The 300km/h barrier is reached within 17.6 seconds. This is all thanks to a 4 liter, 6 cylinder liquid cooled engine that has two turbochargers. The front of the car can be recognized as a 911 GT3 but then all comparisons stop. The rest of the car is custom build with a Nascar like body made from carbon and a tube chassis....
