Just a couple weeks ago I posted a photo of a previous gen Accord Wagon from Japan, pondering how cool it would be if Honda decided to bring the new Accord Tourer to North America as the TSX Wagon. Perhaps someone from Honda was reading? Acura has just announced the TSX Sport Wagon will be joining the lineup for 2011. The car most likely will look very similar to the Euro/Japanese market Accord Tourer pictured up above.
Hmmm...I wonder if it will be time to replace my daily driver come 2011?

I'm about to head out the door on the way to Irwindale Speedway to check out practice and the NFS Shift competition, but before I leave I wanted to post this dumped Accord Wagon photo from Minkara.
How cool would it be if Acura brought over the new Accord Wagon/Tourer as the TSX Wagon for the US market?
Not likely, but it's fun to think about.
OK, off to the House of Drift!

After four hours of intense racing around Laguna Seca, the 2009 American LeMans season is in the books. I'm once again exhausted from a day of shooting and lugging my gear up and down the mountainous terrain, but I wanted to quickly post some of the day's results before I pass out here......

Gil de Ferran, 2000, 2001 Champ Car champion and 2003 Indy 500 winner, enters his final race as a driver this weekend at Laguna Seca, the finale to the 2009 ALMS championship. There are a number of celebrations to mark his retirement, the most prominent being the de Ferran Motorsport Acura LMP1 car carrying a cool Chaparral inspired livery. Jim Hall and his Chaparrals Race cars were leaders in race car design and aerodynamics. The cars always looked stunning with their form and white bodywork. Gil...

Workload has resulted in a lack of ALMS updates from me for most of the season, but it is now time to bring you up to date, in preparation for 'Petit Le Mans' later this month. At the front, the series suffered from the withdrawal from Audi and their R15 TDi after Sebring 12hours. The economic climate also resulted in Audi pulling out of the European Le Mans Series. A decision that Audi probably has since regretted, as lack of running and development cost them victory in the 2009 Le Mans...

A great qualifying session saw Scott Dixon in the de Ferran Motorsports Acura ARX-02a grab pole from Audi and Peugeot earlier today. It was an impressive achievement for Acura and Wirth Research for such a radical new car to beat Audi and Peugeot, almost out of the box. Chief Designer, Nick Wirth was in tears and speechless. Personally, I’m really pleased as the Chief Engineer at de Ferran was one of the guys who gave me my first break, many years ago . Peugeot appeared to be content with one...

This time next week we will witness one of the most eagerly anticipated motorsport contests held in a long time. The 12 Hours of Sebring which is run round the old B17 bomber training base in the Central Highlands of Florida has become arguably the second most important date on the global sportscar/endurance calendar. At the sharp end there will be a mighty tussle betweeen factory efforts from Audi, Peugeot and Acura. We know what the French will bring to the table with their Stealth Bomber meets...

You may have seen my post earlier in the week where we introduced you to the new Acura ARX-02a American Le Mans Series, which made its debut at the ALMS Winter Test in Sebring. The test took place earlier this week, and Marshall Pruett has kindly allowed us to show some of his images, showcasing some of the new machines. Rahal Letterman brought their new 'works' BMW M3 E92 GT2 race car. Its the first time people have been able to get close to it and you can tell BMW mean business. This is...

The 2009 American Le Mans Series began earlier today, with its annual Winter test today at Sebring. A number of new machines made their debut including the stunning new Acura LMP1 car, with some very interesting aerodynamics and form. The new Rahal-Lettermann run BMW M3 E92 Coupe also made its first 2009 appearance. More images over at SpeedTV.com's Sebring gallery , courtsey of Marshall Pruett. -Andy Blackmore

Sadly, it seems like there's a never ending streak of bad news coming out of the auto industry these days. The latest is the word that Honda is scrapping the new NSX, a car which has been in development for some time now. I suppose it's not too surprising considering Honda is pulling out of Formula 1 and announcing cuts elsewhere. Building high dollar, low production sports cars just doesn't make sense given the current state of the auto world. It's sad because the new 500+ hp NSX was shaping up to be a true supercar, just like the original was when it came out in the early '90s. There is still a chance the project will be revived when things get better for Honda which will hopefully be sooner rather than later....

It seems that whenever Honda introduces a new model, Mugen follows immediately after with its own line of tuning parts for it. The latest car to get the Mugen touch is the new Honda Accord. Of course this isn't the same Accord that is sold in North America, but more compact JDM version which is also known as the Acura TSX. As with Mugen's other tuned cars, the Accord combines exterior parts and a small boost in performance, all with OEM quality and warranty....

Being in Japan has given me the opportunity to see a lot of record-breaking tuner cars like the HRS Cyber Evo and Top Fuel S2000, but there is always something great about seeing a non-Japanese company do amazing things with a Japanese car. This NSX was built by Love Fab Motorsports in Buckley, Michigan, a company with many years of experience in custom turbo kits for all sorts of cars. On a recent trip to the dyno, this fully built turbocharged NSX put down an astonishing 921 RWHP and 641 ft. lbs of torque. I'd say there is little reason to doubt Love Fab's claim that this is the most powerful NSX in the world. ...

My father was a bit of a car nut. He introduced me to the term "kicking the tires" at the local dealerships. We weren't a particularly brand loyal family either. Dad cycled through Chevy V8's and even an '86 Corolla (At the time this was the new hotness!). (The image is from a Toyota brochure circa 1980's, and isn't the exact car that he had) My first car was the epitome of reliably bland. A 1990 Toyota Tercel (Thank wikipedia for the image of exactly what my lump of...

The fifth round of the 2008 American Le Mans Series took place at Lime Rock last weekend. The circuit has a long history, dating back to the 50's, but this year the track had been resurfaced and re-profiled. It wasn't popular with the drivers as it's quite a narrow track so, as expected, there would be collisions during the event! First of those was during qualifying, when the freshly rebuilt Bell Motorsport Aston Martin DBR9 which was hit by the Acura of Franck Montagny. According to...

Following our Honda NSX post last week, Auto-Express magazine in the UK have produced some artist impressions of how they think the NSX may look. Its worth remembering that these are just speculation. Sometimes, the magazines will have insider information and sometimes they won't. They will also have the hi-res images of the scoop images to work with. So, if we assume these are accurate, you can see some influence from the Acura 'Advanced Sports Car' concept from the 2007 Detroit Motor...

Knowing Honda, it's not a surprise that they aren't content to sit and watch Nissan and Lexus own the Japanese supercar game. As these recent spy shots show, Honda is working full steam ahead on the next generation NSX. Although heavily obscured, you can still make out the overall body shape of the new car which will aim right for the Nissan GT-R and the Lexus LF-A......

Besides the Nissan Skyline I’m also a big fan of the Honda NSX. Here we have another fine example. Some people would say this is too much, but I know allot of you guys are going to love this. I still believe that the NSX is one of the most underestimated Japanese cars. In new editions of Best Motoring they still use the NSX as a benchmark car. Remember this is for a introduced in 1990....

The Honda Fit is the best selling car in Japan by a long shot. Even I drive one! Despite the fact that our Fit is painted a somewhat less common color, there have still been times when I've had trouble figuring out exactly which Fit was ours in a crowded parking lot. The Fit also has a strong following among tuners in Japan, although most of them are pretty mild as far as modifications go. Then on the other hand, you have the J's Racing Fit GT seen here. Mild is the last word I would use...
