The entire time JR has spent in Japan has been a great example of cross-cultural exchange, centred around the common language of drifting. Even if you can't communicate with words, a simple clutch-kick and smoke of the tyres speaks volumes. So why is he standing next to a lady in a kimono? You'll have to read on to find out. To call JR's trip to Japan amazing would be an incredible understatement. In less than two days, he had gone from watching street drifting in a deserted industrial area of Osaka to meeting and drifting with some of the most famous racing drivers in the country for a Best Motoring Hot Version video shoot. The Hot Version DVD series regularly features foreign models lined up against locally tuned cars, so JR's Ford Racing-enhanced 500hp supercharged Mustang added a distinctly different look...

It's very difficult to blend in when driving a Mustang in Japan, especially when it makes all sorts of loud noises and is a model most people here have never seen before. Needless to say, JR didn't have any intention of trailering his car around from track to track. I apologise to everyone for the lateness of this post, but the past couple of days have been filled with some of the most awesome drifting I have ever seen, punctuated with some of the most famous and well-respected drivers in Japan, and topped off with a severe lack of sleep and the demonic whine of a 500hp supercharged Ford V8.
