I have been following the Battle Evome series for a long time, so it was cool to see that our own Speedhunter in Japan, Dino, was able to catch a glimpse of the series with his latest feature. The cars keep getting better and better so I want to share the three fastest vehicles that raced last Sunday here. I think most of you are familiar with these cars.... First up, the Arios Okuyama RX-7. They came in at 1'00.035 making them the third fastest of the day. Not at all bad when you consider that...

Not sure if this has ever been done before but for this Car Spotlight from the recent Battle Evome event at Tsukuba I'd like to focus on two cars, the Exceed Moat 08A & 07B S14s. These impressively fast Silvias are owned by the Horikoshi brothers that for years have been competing in amateur time attack events, slowly building up their cars and honing their skills resulting in some seriously impressive times. This is the 07B, driven by Hiro, and has so far managed a best time of 57"747...

Even if I do tend to prefer the more sedate look for such vintage rides there is no arguing at the style this Fairlady Z oozes. The race look is achieved tastefully with s few choice parts... ...like the massively blistered fenders, that barely contain the aggressive offset of the semi-slick shod SSRs. I never actually got to see it it run, as the...

Some of you were wondering why a lot of the cars/drivers from the Battle Evome time attack events don't participate in the yearly Tsukuba Super Lap Battle. Seeing the times a lot of these cars managed to post had me asking myself the exact same thing, the best example being Suzuki-san, owner of the Scorch S15 above who has lapped in a best time of 55.5 seconds. Like he has announced on his blog he is now shooting for that extra half a second to break the 54-second barrier! That is Cyber Evo/Tarzan...

We cover a lot of grassroots drift events here on Speedhuntres.com but what about those that prefer to grip around a track? Well don't worry because a couple of weeks ago I attended a BE-Circuit event at Tsukuba Circuit where I got to see, after quite a long time, some proper time attack action. There is nothing amateur about the cars and drivers that participate at this event. Sure most of them are simple owners out to have some fun, but their competitive nature has pushed them to create some...
