Corrupt CF cards. They're the bane of our lives here at Speedhunters. Unfortunately with the high volume of photos we take (over 10,000 a week), we tend to encounter this problem more often than most. The dreaded error happened to one of the cards I used during my Singapore trip, but thankfully I was able to recover them. It certainly would've been a damn shame not to share the jaw-dropping array of cars I witnessed at Singapore's HKS Garage R. Singapore is a tiny island in South-East...

For the fourth and final part of my visit to Canepa Design, I want to share some of the historic machines that can be found upstairs at the Canepa Motorsports Museum. It's a collection that quite frankly puts a lot of dedicated auto museums to shame - especially if you fancy yourself a race car or two....

Now that we've had a look at the repair and restoration facilities at Canepa Design, it's time to take a little browse through the main showroom.
As you've probably gathered by now, this isn't just any car showroom. It's one filled with some of the most desirable vehicles on the planet.
Let's take a look....

In yesterday's post I introduced the magnificent Canepa Design facility in Scotts Valley California, and shared just a few of the iconic cars which can be found inside.
Now let's continue the tour with a detailed look through the workshop area.
Prepare to be amazed....

In my journeys as a Speedhunter, I've had the chance to visit all sorts of car collections and shops. From gritty Hot Rod builders to factory collections with floors so clean you could eat off them, I've seen just about everything.
There was nothing, however, that could prepare me for what I saw last month when I visited Canepa Design....

During my six years of photographing cars in Australia I've come across some passionate people, one of them being Trent Whyte from Mercury Motorsport. This family owned business, located in the Brisbane suburb of Wilston, started back in 2004. Over the years, Mercury Motorsport established a strong reputation for building a variety of potent street and race cars. Walking into the front entrance you are greeted by a number of trophies. Auto Salon's Tough as Nails award... ...Along with a number...

The City of Industry in southern California is home to wide range of car tuners. One of those is SP Engineering. Founded in 1996 by Alex Shen, SP immediately began making a name for itself by building all sorts of cars for customers. Focusing initially on the Japanese aftermarket industry, word began to spread about SP’s powerful and reliable street cars. Their 13,000 sq.ft. facility houses five lifts, a Dynojet chassis dyno, office space for their sales staff and warehouse space to house all...

The island country of Singapore is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Asia, but something it's not so famous for is its car culture. With incredibly high registration costs and strict regulations on vehicle modifications, you'd think Singaporean car enthusiasts would be few and far between. But you'd be wrong. In spite of car ownership costing up to five times more than in North America, Singapore's car scene is thriving. During my short visit, Speedhunters guest blogger...

At this stage, anyone with an even passing interest in drifting will know the name Driftworks. Their 700+BHP 2JZ powered S15 is recognised around the world, their website is one of the most active drifting website's on earth but none of this was achieved overnight. I remember first joining the Driftworks forum back in 2004 when it was still in its relative infancy. I don't think anyone at the time could have ever guessed just how big they would become. What started as a backroom operation...

There are garages, and then there are garages like City Performance Centre. Located in the Sydney suburb of Artarmon, CPC has quickly established itself as one of the Australia's premiere car builders, with their massive facility housing a diverse range of cars. Prepare to drool. ...

Hi all. Well it's time to showcase PT2 of our visit to the S&N Automobilzentrum facility (it's too large to use the word "Shop"!) in Aachen, Germany. In part one of our shop tour, we showed you the work rooms and the front of house, and now we're going to head over to the back of the warehouse. I always enjoy looking through the storage areas of big race car shops. You never know what gems you will uncover -like this complete, ready to run flat 12, Porsche 917 engine. Speaking...

Every so often we receive emails from young people asking for advice in their careers. How does one become a professional automotive photographer? Or a professional automotive video game designer? How does one take an interest in cars, talent behind the wheel and turn this into a full time career as a professional race car driver? Unfortunately we don't have time to answer each and every email we receive along these lines. The subject of making your dreams real is a long and complex one. But...

Last week before I headed to Long Beach for the Japanese Classic Car Show, I made a stop in Torrance to visit our friends at Starlite Rod & Kustom. It had been over a year and half since I'd visited Jack and Edgar and I was long overdue for a follow up....

Before we had even landed in Sydney, there was one place that we had underlined as a must-visit. The problem was, it isn't open to the public. I'm talking about the private garages of the Jones family, of FAT57 fame. Mark Jones and his two sons, Beauman and Harley, have built an amazing - and truly diverse - range of customised cars. On our last day of shooting in Sydney, the Jones family opened up the FAT57 gate and gave Speedhunters an exclusive look into their lives. Father Mark Jones...

During one of my recent trips to the SF Bay Area, I made a stop by the Blu808 shop in Campbell, California - not far from San Jose. If you aren't familiar with Blu808, then you are probably familiar with their work. This is the shop behind Conrad Grunewald's Formula Drift Camaro and more recently owner Luke Lonberger's C6 Corvette....

The last garage I visited in Japan was Nagano Koubou. was the very last one. If you're not familiar with the workshop, these two s-chassis might refresh your memory. The Onevia and PS13 are definitely styled a little differently to your regular looking s-chassis, even the Japanese couldn't get enough of them at Meihan. The shop itself is located at the very end of a quiet cul de sac. This was what greeted us when we arrived. The blue RPS13 is Nagano's and the pink PS13 is his girlfriend's...

I was in the San Diego, California area the other day, when I heard that John Russakoff's shop, JSP Fab, was right around the corner. Seeing how 86 was right around the corner, I knew I had to make a stop. And here' Mr. Corolla himself, John Russakoff. John also had a visitor with him when I popped by his shop. He was flanked by his son, Levin (yes, he named his son after a Corolla!), who is a very avid car enthusiast for being so young. John is most known for his exploits at Formula D with...

Sergeant, formerly known as Revolver, used to specialise in AE86s and was responsible for building Katsuhiro Ueo's famous D1-GP AE86 which crowned him 1st place in the 2002 series. Jenesis and Sergeant are actually related companies and are located only a few kilometres away from each other in Osaka. I was immediately hooked when I first took a glance inside the workshop. There were some very interesting cars inside, both new and old, including a Hakosuka. One of the cars that first greeted us...

I'm winding down my Car Builder articles from my recent trip to Japan, and I hope you've been enjoying the insight into some of the smaller profile tuning houses. During my trip with the K-Tours crew, one of the garages we visited was T-Welding, also known as Technical Works. The shop is rUn by an older fellow by the name of Yuuichi Taguchi who has been around the scene for quite some time. T-Welding specialises mainly in exhausts and, as their name suggests, take a lot of pride in their...

During Japan's Golden Week we took a scenic drive through Royu which goes over Rokko mountain. Our destination? The M-Bros garage located in Miki city, Hyogo prefecture. While few people will have heard of M-Bros, I'm sure many do know of drifter Naoki Nakamura. And if you ever wondered where his cars are built and come to life, the answer is right here in the tiny M-Bros workshop. The garage is run by Takamasa Kuroi, and it's predominantly used to work on their D1 cars. These were some...
