I'll finish up blogging about my recent trip to California with a quick story about the journey from the hotel to the airport this past Monday. The plan was to drop off the NFS Terlingua off at Shelby's LA HQ and take a cab to LAX, but this isn't exactly how things turned out. So here we are parking up the Mustang for another sad good bye. The giant SUV belongs to everyone's favourite Scion stalwart, Chris Rado. Some of you may remember we featured this supercharged 600 hp truck exactly...

Chris Rado's Scion tC certainly has a lot of people talking this year... Whether it's discussions about the functionality and aesthetics of the fwing, or stories about him lighting up his front wheels in 6th gear on the straight at Nashville, this machine certainly has raised some eyebrows. It's also the most extreme and powerful front wheel drive time attack car on the planet. Chris seems rather happy to have gobs of power under his right foot... it's said that the Scion now has...

If Tommy Milner is racing driver as machine-introvert then Chris Rado is the opposite: he's all heart and soul. His whole approach to living is quite unlike anyone I've ever met to be honest. This is a guy who lives for speed and excitement... in all aspects of his life. It's no wonder that he's starting practicing yoga... he needs to, otherwise he's likely to self destruct from all the wildness rattling around inside of his soul. During the creation process of each video, we...

Erg.... feeling a bit foggy today... I just had a pretty intense three days out in the desert shooting the final round of the NFS Drivers Films project with Chris Rado... it was also a great chance for me to see both Red Line Time Attack and Just Drift events up close and personal. Upon arriving at the track on Friday, the first item of business was to meet up with Chris, to check out our muse for the weekend: his updated Scion tC Time Attack monster. You'll recall that we featured the in-progress...

April is themed Drift Month on Speedhunters, but it seems like we've been a little distracted with all the Long Beach GP coverage on the site... I probably should have also visited some Drift shops like Garage Boso while I was in LA last week, but didn't quite get around to that... oh well -- next time!... I did make it out to three shops though: Twins Turbo Motorsport, SOCAL Speed Shop and Chris Rado's World Racing. They aren't drift shops per se, but I think you'll be pleased...

If you have been following Speedhunters regularly, then you've likely read about Chris Rado and the World Racing team's adventures with their Scion tC time attack car. The team has been hard at work redoing the car for the 2009 time attack season, and I just spoke with Chris a bit about some of the updates they are doing to for the new season. From what he's told me, this car will truly be bringing American-built time attack cars to a whole new level....

My final race of the 2008 season was the Super Street Super Lap Battle finale out at Buttonwillow. My team and I really wanted to finish the season off with a bang and do well in this last event. This event had a huge turnout and had drivers from all over the world there to compete. Our team knew that not only would our tC need to be on-point for this event, but that we needed to strategize a game plan because of some of the mechanical limitations of our car. We needed a plan that would allow us...

Okay... here comes a big one... blog that is. Prepare yourself, as I am about to touch on some drag racing, time attack, SEMA stuff, and drifting... yes, you read correctly... drifting . Let the Speedhunting begin! So some have you may or may not have heard through the rumor-mill that I have been out at Willow Springs five days over the past two weeks causing some ruckus with veteran drifter Tony Angelo. Why you ask? Because in 2009, WORLD Racing will be starting their own drift program. That's...

For the vast majority of the Speedhunters' readership, Irwindale Speedway is the House of Drift. It is considered by most people to be the epicenter of the US drift scene; the place that has seen the evolution from amateurs making smoke in the parking lot, to the professional, multi-car, factory supported teams we see today.
However, for an entirely different group of people, Irwindale Speedway is the place to be on Thursday nights.... and not for drifting... no not at all... it's the home of a group of people who like to call themselves "Street Legal Drag Racers"....

Being a Speedhunter in Southern California, you have to work 7 days a week. Why? You're processing photos, editing, and writing (and sometimes going to special events) from Monday-Friday, but on the weekends, there are ALWAYS different car events to attend! This past weekend in Fontana CA was the Battle of the Imports season finale, at California Speedway. I was very busy this past weekend doing a photo shoot and a supercar test drive for one of our "Driving Impression" stories, but...

Even though I may or may not be known as Chris Rado the "drag racer", I'm going to shed a little light on another passion of mine - time attack. July 26th and 27th was the Redline Time Attack in Nashville, Tennessee at the Nashville Super Speedway. I was super excited as well along with the WORLD Racing team to be going to this event, especially since the at last two consecutive time attack events we had taken 1st place. I was ready to do it again, and I know the rest of my guys were too. Even though Nashville Super Speedway is a tighter and shorter track then I'm used to - meaning I'd be using a lot of second and third gear coming out of turns, which is typically more difficult in a high horsepowered, heavy, FWD car such as our tC - I was up for the challenge....

Since we've been publishing a series of photos from my recent trip to Battle of the Imports in Las Vegas, I thought I'd put together a special gallery focused on our good friend, fellow Speedhunter Christian Rado. Here's a photo of Chris's World Racing Pro FWD Scion TC at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway start line, right about to launch. What the photo doesn't illustrate is the deafening sound of the engine - everyone around the car was doing their best to plug their ears, but it...

A few weeks back, myself and the rest of the WORLD Racing team headed to Atco, New Jersey for the Battle of the Imports. This was our first Battle of the Imports event in almost three years. The team and I had high hopes for this event at our home track. We were going out with a new clutch in the PRO FWD NOS Energy Drink WORLD Racing Scion tC for the first time this year. We had been running a pro-stock style clutch for the last season and a half. As the engine program progressed and got more powerful...

For this first blog of mine, I’m going to talk about a crazy last couple of weeks I’ve had. I feel that this past few weeks will give everyone a good look into my life and who I am. If you don’t know me, hi! My name is Chris Rado. I am the driver for and owner of the WORLD Racing Motorsports team. I’m that guy at that track most likely in a tank top, going fast as hell in a Scion tC, working hard, but playing even harder. After a long couple of weeks in New Jersey, competing...

Chris Rado is one of those individuals you only meet very rarely in life who appears to have enough energy and charisma to fuel a small army. The guy has extra batteries you know? Well, at any rate he's putting this energy to good use and is funneling it into his various drag, time attack and show car projects like this 500bhp Scion TC Time Attack monster. You'll get a peak into his crazy world when we publish his first blog entry this week.........
