Clash have released footage of the full first lap of the 24 hour race last weekend, on-board with Tom Coronel in a Porsche GT3. It'll give you an idea of how big the grid is, how long the lap is and how tough it must be to drive the course for 24 hours.

Stephan Benini from Clash Productions was in touch last week, where he sent us a two minute preview of his upcoming short film 'Vernal Equinox'. It's not a motorsport film, but a fictional film that feature's motorsport, in particular drifting. The brief synopsis Stephane included says that the move is about a young student coming home when he faces an unexpected situation. He then becomes aware of an unexpected challenge. Stephane describes the young man's experience as surreal.

The idea behind it was to go beyond the 'usual music video drift editing' and bring his work to a new level. We briefly talked about his other movie, 'Titan' which Stephane says is around 98% complete and will be released later this year.

I've always been a huge fan of Stephane's work and I eagerly await the May 10th release of 'Vernal Equinox'

Just a couple of days ago, Rod posted a teaser to Stephane Benini’s film project, Titan. Today, Stephane threw up a six minute preview. I won't say any more other than that I am completely mesmerized by this clip. We here at Speedhunters can't wait to indulge our eyes on the finished Clash Productions audio and visual feast!

It seems like Stephane from the Clash Production has been out filming in Scandinavia recently... I'm sure you'll recognize some of the cars from the Speedhunters coverage we've been giving to the crazy automotive scenes in this part of the world.... I'm a little perplexed by the music, but the imagery is some of the best that Clash have done in recent times IMO.

You know, there have been drifting world invitational events for a few years now, D1GP started the idea at Irwindale and it was carried on by Red Bull for 2008... but... I'm starting to think there needs to be a Time Attack World Final too. Both the American and UK scenes claim to have taken massive strides forward in the past year. Certainly the UK machines were lapping a lot faster in 2008 from 2007... have a look for yourself to see..... do you think these cars are ready to take on the Japanese? And if such an event were arranged would you come out to watch the battles unfold?
