The Slovakiaring's paddock was teeming with car-spotting opportunities over the weekend of the FIA GT3 races, with a packed supercar parking area adjacent to the pits plus the attractions at numerous displays around the track. And what a supercar display there was! Each GT round has been playing a game of who's-got-the-sauciest-cars – Silverstone's Lamborghini Aventador and Paul Ricard's Aston One-77 (and US muscle) for instance, but Slovakia provided that and more. The rarest...

An important chapter in our Things To Do Before You Die series is getting your hands dirty. Melinda Neil and I (who both work at EA) have teamed up to share with you some of the reasons why working on your own car is such an important thing to do. Indeed, Melinda and I both spend our weekends away from the EA office working on our cars. And although it doesn't sound glamorous, often it's these experiences, grazed knuckles and all, that you end up cherishing for the rest of your life.

Everyone has their bucket list, if we're lucky, we can knock off a few of the important ones before we kick the bucket, (pardon the pun). High on most driving enthusiasts list is being able to hoon a car like those guys on TV do. Whether that's taking a front-drive 89 horsepower hatchback through a corner on three wheels, or learning to balance a Viper around a sweeper at 160 mph, if you've got high octane fuel running through your veins, there is always something more to master behind...

With the Mustang, Ford is in possession of a very valuable property: a modern car with soul and character. Think about it: the vast majority of car companies these days make all of their models with uniform styling features. It's even hard to distinguish between different cars of the same class these days. It's for this reason I've developed a bit of a soft spot for this retro macho machine, especially the hotted up versions that companies like Shelby and now RTR are putting out. The...

Last week I said goodbye to a dear friend, she's gone, thats it, no more.. I spent 3 years of my life building this beast, and drove it for another 2 1/2 years, flogged it on the track a bunch, and generally had a blast, but like all good things, it came to an end. While selling a car is always a tough thing, I did at least get the joy knowing the new owner will take great care of it, and I have never sold anything to anyone so excited in thier life, he's definitely deserving, and I'm...

Ok, I've found destiny, I am LOVING this car. As some of you know I built up a FFR Cobra roadster, but I'd sell that, and my soul in a heartbeat for one of these. Exotic Auto Restoration in SoCal have taken a Superformance Coupe and modified it to produce a limited run of very special Daytona Coupes. Superformance cars are authorized by the man himself Carroll Shelby as 'legit' replicas (an oxymoron if I've ever heard one), so a Superformance Coupe is as close as you're going...

Comparing Dean's FFR build to other kit cars is like comparing apples to oranges, or your average kit car to a custom built hot rod. I would compare Dean's car to something Boyd Coddington's shop would produce if they built a Cobra, or even something Ford themselves would have built, it's that clean! When I first saw this car, I actually felt embarrassed by mine, Dean's attention to detail is unparalleled in the kit car circle, at least as far as I've seen. The stance is just...

OK, so it probably sounds strange that there is a NEW car model called the "'33 Hot Rod", but I think that the latest offering from Factory Five Racing certainly qualifies as a "new" car. While old school hot rods are not lacking in character or coolness, the antiquated cars leave a lot to be desired as far as chassis design and performance potential goes. Factory Five Racing is well known for their popular Cobra kits and their latest design puts combines all of their sports and racing experience with all the style and simplicity of traditional hot rods....

Even though I've known about the "Cars & Coffee" meeting in Irvine CA for a very long time now, I had never previously attended the meet, because it always happens so early on Saturday mornings, and it's so far from where I live. Cars & Coffee started as a meeting of high end exotics, supercars, and American muscle... the original location was at Crystal Cove in the Newport Beach area, but the meet eventually moved to the Ford-Premier Automotive Group, Mazda Campus in Irvine...

Here's a random pic of my friend James Bondurant (grandson of race car driver Bob Bondurant, of Bondurant School of Performance Driving fame) drifting at Irwindale in a Factory Five racer, owned by James Evans of Evans Racing. Although this car has the body of the famously expensive Shelby Cobra, it's actually a kit car, which combines a Cobra style body with a Ford Mustang engine, transmission, and mechanical components. I wonder if traditional "muscle car guys" would become drifting...
