A few weeks ago I was invited out to X Games 14 by my friend and rally driver Ken Block. He had mentioned he would like me to be an extra set of eyes as well as his technical advisor, not to mention I doubled as his "party sub" since he had to skip out on all the festivities until the weekend was over in order to perform at 110%. Even though I have an already insane schedule this month, how could I resist this opportunity?...

ESPN's 'X' Games took place last weekend in Carson, California. The X Games is an annual event which focuses on extreme action sports. This stunning picture shows Ken Block landing hard, damaging his Subaru Impreza radiator in this incident. This enabled eventual winner, Travis Pastrana to beat Ken in the Semi Finals and then win the Rally based (its not real rallying!) element of the games. Another major crash during the first practice session for the 24hr Le Mans race. This time it was Hideko Noda in his LMP2 Lola Mazda that flipped several times. Luckily for him he came out of the crash unscathed, while the car on the other hand was destroyed. I guess he won't be racing this weekend.

Ouch. Another violent, airborne crash at Le Mans. Luckily, the driver only sustained minor injuries during this one. Seems like some aero changes may be in order at Le Mans doesn't it?
