The PRI show held every December in Orlando, Flordia is a must-see for all hardcore builders and drivers. It is the SEMA Show of the Performance Industry. While there are some amazing cars on display, the show is more focused on peformance parts available to build your dream street machine or full-blown race car. NEWS FLASH!!!!!! Chris Forsberg, Tony Angelo, Ryan Tuerck and I decided to build a crap-box 240SX for the 24 Hour of LeMons at Thunderhill Raceway. Our theme: The Channel 4 News Team from the Anchorman movie. Not only did we build a crap-box news car, but we built it in three days, minus the cage that Justin Pawlak fabbed up at "Hotline" for us. The mini Batmobile! Even Barbie came out to play. The Mario Brothers car. Doot doot doot da doot doooot dooot. Here is our machine in all its glory...

This past weekend I went to what will be my final event of the year; Drift Nirvana's 100 Drifters of December at Summit Point Raceway in West Virginia. Going to grassroots drift events is one of my favorite things to do. I try to get out to as many as my schedule allows each year, which recently has not been enough! Heading into the final round of the NZ Drift Series I was sitting in 2nd place and there was only 22 points separating me from the championship leader Gaz Whiter. For me to take the title it meant I needed to finish one spot ahead of Gaz and qualify 2 spots ahead to claim the championship. My sights were set high to qualify 1st and finish 1st and I was super confident to make this happen. Pukekohe being my favorite track with the infamous entry "widow maker" sweeper which is a 5th gear full throttle 200+kmh corner! The judges had really asked for carnage when they announced they want us to run a new line, and made it an outside clipping zone around the entire sweeper....

It was the Winter Nationals at Pomona California in 1974. We were down to the last round of qualifying, with no success of making the field yet because I’d had ignition problems all weekend. But when I warming up the car in the pits, it sounded so sharp. I knew I’d found the problem. But little did I know I was about to take the “E ticket” ride of my life on the next run....
