The 5 series E39 is a pretty common car and it can seem a bit dull in its standard form. But with a few carefully selected parts you can really make this car stand out. This particular car belongs to Pavel, who has owned the car for almost a year and has already driven it 70,000 miles. The car sits about 5" from the ground thanks to custom coilovers, so I'm pretty sure it loves to eat roadside reflectors for breakfast. We have seen multiple examples in which the wheels can make or break...

When Carl first saw this BMW E39 525d a few years back it was love at first sight. The car was stock and black but he had to pick it up. He drove it around for a few years with a few simple mods but recently decided for a full refresh including a conversion to white paint....

The other day we got an email from our buddy Jarod DeAnda (the voice of Formula Drift and other automotive events across the USA). After we posted a photo of Bon Bon's E36 Wagon last week, Jarod wanted to raise his own BMW wagon. It's a '99 540iT with KW suspension, 20" J-Line wheels, and an M5 front bumper among other things. The most important mod though, might be the Recaro child seat for his son. I've been on a real E39 kick lately and this doesn't help. Thanks Jarod...

In case anyone hasn't seen it (this is from well before the YouTube era) here's Guy Ritchie's BMW promo film from the early 2000s featuring Clive Owen, Madonna, and most importantly the E39 M5.

I remember watching this in high school and thinking it was the coolest thing in the world. Maybe it still is.

The other day we got an email from our buddy Ernie Manasala at NOS Energy Drink. Seeing how it's BMW month, Ernie wanted to share a couple photos of some BMW's built by his older brother Mike at E-Shift Performance in New Jersey. As you'll note from the opening shot, these aren't quite your typical "Euro" Bimmers......
