There is just no denying that many top Japanese tuners have fully turned their attention to ECO cars. The Honda Insight and Toyota Prius are gaining in popularity so the tuners have been quick to hop on this trend. Thought I would continue on with the "eco" theme and post this photo of the Lexus GS450 Hybrid race car from last summer's Super Taikyu 24hr race. This car finished fourth in class despite a large weight disadvantage. The GS also happens to look really cool in race car form with the TE37's etc......

When I was at this year's Tokyo Auto Salon walking amongst the gobs of GT-R's, Evos and such, my eye was struck by this dark blue Toyota Prius that was in the Yokohama Tire booth. The car was built by Mooncraft which is one of Japan's oldest race car designers and has worked in many forms of motorsport including Super GT and Formula Nippon. With gas prices soaring around the world and growing concern about the enviornment, Mooncraft's latest project is part of the "Eco Tuning" movement......
