This car is getting famous all over the world and has been featured in many VW magazines, blogs and forums. When you look closely at this build, it's clear why it was recently on the cover of Performance VW magazine; this Golf is a top-end, high quality car....

You guys allready know that I have a weakness for air-bagged cars. I just love the stance and the look of the whole car when it's sitting on the ground. Believe it or not, this car is owned by a lady. Eva is a 200% Bmw fanatic and also owns the matte black BMW E46 that was featured on the cover of Euro Tuner last month. I have to admit this shoot is quite old, and she's already replaced the E93 with a E92 M3. I always loved shots on the full side on a car with air suspension, so you can see...

Like I said in the Audi TT feature this morning, I used up all my current crop of AWD photos in the VAG month... but I'm sure you guys will like this Euro VW Golf as much as an AWD car, maybe better! This mk4 is owned by Davy, he likes to have everything perfectly finished. A real detail freak! And that's what we like at Speedhunters! Davy's mk4 is running on air suspension... like I said before there are loads of crappy roads here in Belgium and he likes to spare his car from getting...

Unfortunately all my AWD features got used up during VAG month, so I'm going to show a couple FF cars in the coming weeks, just to break things up a bit. This TT isn't AWD as Rod originally thought, but it's still worth a look, as it sports a unique one-off body kit. The body kit is made in full carbonfiber and is original from Audi. Wesley, 23 year old owner of this car, is the first and only person in the world with this OEM certificated kit. The carbon kit was painted in white and...

While browsing through Kevve's photos, one of the cars that drew some interest was this Mk5 Golf 5-door. On the outside, the car looks great. It's dropped low on an RRAS air ride system and has a set of 18" Golf 6 replica wheels that nicely fill the fenders. Besides the suspension, wheels, and a bit of light body work, the car remains a stock 1.6L Golf capable of sipping fuel on the way to work and back. There wasn't quite enough "meat" to do a full feature on this car, so we figured just sharing this one photo would do.
This month we've been seeing a lot of VW's that some might label "all show and no go", so I'm curious to hear what you guys think about that. Are stock-motored cars bad? Is it OK if they don't go for the "race car" look? Or does it even matter at all? ...

The journey continues down our Gumball 3000 path as we are nearing the home stretch of my trip at least. Through Part 1 and Part 2 you have followed us on quite some adventures surrounded by some truly amazing exotics. Sadly my journey would be coming to an early finish but you’ll have to keep reading Part 3 to find out what went down in the Louisiana Bayou! The W Hotel in Dallas, Texas was great to everyone on the rally but we had a fun drive through the heart of Texas and into New Orleans...

As you read earlier this week I embarked on the Gumball 3000 and Rod asked me to share it with all the loyal readers at Speedhunters. Part one of my story took us from the start line at the Santa Monica Pier, all the way to Sedona, Arizona. Part two of the Gumball 3000 saga has me leaving Sedona, Arizona and heading to Dallas, Texas which proves to be a tough leg with car problems and plenty of police waiting for the Gumball drivers around every bend. The Bentley was not quite fixed when it was time...

Before embarking on this adventure across America, I thought I was prepared and I thought I knew what to expect but I really had no idea at all what was in store for me. This would mark my sixth trip across America in my short few years on this Earth..... It was the first time however, with 128 other cars and a first time in a Bentley. My mission on this outing was to capture great photography for you readers at Speedhunters along with my other sites Luxuryvice.com and Wreckedmagazine.com . Driving...

What do you do when you drive slammed car over 20000 miles a year on bad Belgian roads? You can not drive these distances and this low on coilovers so Diego and Robin decided to go for air suspension under their brand new '08 B8 A4 wagons. Diego's black wagon only had 300miles on the counter when he entered the air shop! The stance of these cars is just amazing! When doing this rolling pictures I heard the plastic crankcase protection screaping the ground. You see heads turning when these...

My first feature on Speedhunters... and I'm delighted to showcase this car! I love these kinds of projects and so does Frits, proud owner of this Vw Golf mk1. He bought his first VW Golf in 1992 and ten Golfs later he came in the possession of this car. It was sitting in a farmyard and hadn’t even been started for three years. The rear window was nowhere to be found and it looked like there the neglected machine had become a home for some abandoned chickens. But, the chassis was suprisingly...

I'm pretty sure my father is reasonably pleased with how I've turned out as his offspring.... I've managed to eke out a somewhat fruitful life for myself which is entirely consumed with creating media about automobiles.... As my dad is a bit of an autofiend himself, he quite likes to check out Speedhunters, but I do get the feeling sometimes that he wishes we focused more on European cars. See my dad is a hardcore VW guy. He's been brand loyal to VW ever since he started canyon racing...

I have a theory I'd like to run past you lot.... please bear with me, as I'm working out my thoughts as I write this... it's a bit of an experimental premise and needs some feedback from you. Here's the thought: The Honda Civic and the Volkswagen Golf have had somewhat parallel histories and comparable positions within certain factions of car mod culture. Both started out life as small FF cars, in 1972 and 1974 respectively, and each developed some big followings over the years in...

It's a little bit of a sore point for me that Speedhunters hasn't really repped the Euro tuning scene as much as it deserves. It was never really our full intention to become a Japanese car centric website, but instead show case car cultures around the world that we feel are forward thinking, relevant and edgy. So Japanese automotive culture certainly is a big part of this vision, but it also doesn't exclude the possibility that we can also showcase automotive scenes of European or American origins. So rather than looking at country of origin, we tend to use the following paradyms to decide if a car is going to get a Speedhunters feature or not:...

As you've likely heard, one of the additions to Tokyo Auto Salon for 2009 was the "Import Auto Salon", which held in a separate building apart from the three main halls of TAS. For show visitors it meant more bang for the ticket-buying buck, and for us press people, it meant more to shoot and write about. I wasn't really sure what to expect, but I think the Import Auto Salon turned out well for its first time around....

If you come from somewhere like the USA, if someone says "import", you probably picture a fixed up Japanese compact in your head. Battle of the Imports, Hot Import Nights, Import Tuner... I've always thought the term was a bit funny. Is a Ferrari not classified as an "import"? How about a BMW? Also, many so-called "imports" these days are built right in the US! Anyways, in Japan the term "import" of course refers to cars from Europe or the United States, and tuning foreign cars is getting more and more popular here, even with the poor economy....

This little rocket is the Honda Civic Type R – R3 Rally car. Based upon the European Civic hatchback, this rally version has been developed by Honda Europe’s Customer racing partner, JAS Motorsport. The project showcases JAS’ talents outside of the WTCC and Endurance Racing. The car is built to new 'R3' class regs, which allows it to compete in the Intercontinental Rally Challenge. Its has also had success in National Rally campaigns including the British, Dutch, Italian...

As the time attack movement continues to spread around the world, we want to showcase some of the different series and the types of cars that can be found in them. What better place to start than in the UK where the Time Attack Championship is done on a greater scale than anything in the United States or even Japan, the so-called "birthplace" of time attack as a motorsport......

"Crazy" is probably not a word you would use to describe modern day Toyota, yet that is just what they have decided to call their latest concept vehicle. After reading a little more about this car, I do have to say the label definitely fits. The Toyota Aygo Crazy is based on the Aygo minicar that is sold in Europe, and you can get an idea of how far they have gone with this concept when you see the "Crazy" parked next to the standard Aygo......

You are looking at what has to be one of the most insane sports sedans ever, the Brabus Bullit Black Arrow (talk about a tounge twister). This new machine is based on the C-class Mercedes but, Brabus has pushed the standard C-class to a supercar level. Thanks to its flat black paint job, the Bullit Black Arrow looks about as mean as a car can possibly look. Recently I have heard a lot of people call cars like this "murder style" or something. Am I the only one who thinks that sounds dumb...
