To finish of the 2009 coverage of the Need for Speed European Drift Championship, a quick look behind the scenes at Snetterton. After a long summer break, the NFS-EDC circus arrived at Snetterton in Norfolk of the grand finale of the 2009 season. With the title still within reach of 3 people, NFS-EDC round 5 had all the makings of event of the year. The Coram section of Snetterton has not been used for a drift event for a good few years and I for one had forgotten just how spectacular it is. Hahaha... forget triple drift... in this video Ben Broke-smith, Phil Morrison, Martin Ffrench, Peter Barber and Brett Castle from the Need for Speed European Drift Championship come together, to make a five car drift train, at last weekend's event at Santa Pod... I'm not sure who made the video but it has some pretty good colour grading happening too...

For the final instalment for NFS-EDC round 5 its a look behind the scenes at the goings on in and around the Santapod paddock. New to the NFS-EDC collective is Martin Ffrench driving the revamped Dragon Performance RX7, basically the same car he ran in JDM Allstars Newcastle but looking totally different in the new pink and black livery. From the super fast sweeping turns of Brands Hatch to the tight and technical custom made Santapod track, round 5 of the NFS-EDC championship could not be more different to all of the previous rounds. 8am and the British summer time played its trump card and delivered a mix of drizzle and heavy showers of rain making conditions a little tricky. Time for a look back at the goings on in and around the paddock at NFS-EDC round 3 with some photos that don't make it into the event reports. Something you don't see every day a R/C replica of the Driftworks S15 complete with miniature Phil Morrison behind the wheel. Drifting, yes you know it's all about the S words............skill, speed, smoke, sensation, SpeedHunters and..........errr sand? Round three of the 2009 European Drift Challenge was held yesterday at Silverstone. The high entry speed into the first corner, Brooklands, caused several to cross the fine line between drifting and beaching. Round 3 saw us at a sun baked Silverstone for round 3 of the NFS-EDC championship,always a favorite with fans and drivers alike silverstone always promises very high speeds with loads of smoke and round 3 was going to be no exception. With round two Knockhill well and truly over i thought i would take a look back behind the scenes of the event, the paddock is a nice open place where its easy to see whats going on so i thought i would try and focus a little on the people you don't normally see during the events and the things that happen behind close doors. Knockhill.. a place where you can have a years worth of weather in 24 hours, for practice yesterday it served up rain ,hail, and heavy fog.. today for NFS-EDC round 2 we were greeted with blue sky's and the threat of sun burn. Round 2 of the NFS-EDC championship see's us heading north to the Knockhill circuit in Scotland, this is by far the most difficult event for me to get to but one of my favorites, the track is just superb! 100mph+ entrys into turn 1 followed by a flat out downhill transition into a slow technical almost hairpin to finish, coupled with Knockhill's reputation for very changeable weather this is not a place for the fain hearted.
