While Linhbergh was in Charlotte shooting the Mustang RTR and RTR-C last week, we stopped by Autosport Dynamics where we were able to check out the shell of my new competition car. The Falken Tire 2011 Ford Mustang chassis had just arrived from paint. Here is a picture of me getting acquainted with my new car for the first time. Something is so cool to me about seeing a freshly painted bare chassis. Anyone agree? - Vaughn Gittin Jr.

Like a proud father, I am very happy to introduce a new generation of the Ford Mustang - the Mustang RTR. I have dreamt this vision in my head for years; unfortunately, it has taken so much time for me to find the right people to help take the vision from my head to paper, then to the actual prototype phase that you see here. It sounds a lot easier then it really is - trust me! I fell in love with the Mustang in late 2004 and, as most of you know, we have been inseparable since. The Ford Mustang...

Here is the sneak peak I promised you all. This is the first-ever public picture of the extremely limited production Mustang RTR-C, the halo of the RTR brand. It is a one-hundred percent dry carbon Mustang for the street, which features in-car adjustable shocks, 550 horsepower, and carbon fiber HRE wheels. Only ten of these cars will be made. The car will first be seen at the SEMA Show this year where it will be on display at the Ford booth all week. I will do a feature on the car here on Speedhunters...

The RTR-C was the inspiration to create the Mustang RTR, which is basically a toned-down version that offers similar looks without the carbon or the serious performance gains. The reason I chose Autosport Dynamics (ASD) in Charlotte, NC to build the RTR-C is due to their attention to detail and complete understanding of my vision. I wanted a Mustang that was simply untouchable and was a work of art; all the way from the carbon fiber HRE CF40's, to the way that the weave of the carbon lines up...

Even though Formula D has come to an end for the year and is a huge relief for many, the next five days are full of suspense, insanity and excitement for me, as I get ready to introduce my dream that will become a reality in a big way at SEMA. A new generation of Mustang will be introduced to the world - the Mustang RTR which will be a dealer-installed performance and appearance package available at select dealers in 2010. Official introduction to be posted here next Tuesday. If you will be at SEMA...

I had the incredible opportunity to drift Road America during a vintage race and it was awesome. Here is a video documenting the fun that was had by all! Drifting the carousel was for sure the highlight of the day. I think it's the first time anyone has been allowed to do it??

Another highlight was taking former F1 driver Brian Redman for a ride. He absolutely fell in love with drifting and after the event I got a call that he wanted to learn how. How’s that for love towards “just wasting rubber”?

Last month I was asked to be part of an exhibition at the Oshkosh EAA Air Venture called "Wings Vs. Wheels". I think the pictures that came out are simply amazing so I had to share them with everyone on here! Carroll Shelby sure enjoyed me beating on his GT500, almost as much as I did! The things that come out of his mouth are hilarious; he is a super cool guy. Upon arriving all I knew was that I would be driving a 2010 Shelby GT500 as fast as it would go down a huge runway with a plane...

I know I'm a bit late on here, however, I just wanted to share Round One in Long Beach from my eyes. You've heard the "better late then never" motto? Long Beach is an awesome way to start off the season; the energy of the city and the crowd just feels electric! The course is challenging and takes 100% commitment. One wrong move and you're parked for the weekend. In the weeks leading up to the event, I couldn't sleep because I was so excited to debut the 2010 Falken Tire...

Two weekends ago I went out to Barber Motorsports Park for the Mustang 45th Anniversary celebration to put on a show for the fans and give some ride-alongs. It was such an amazing event that brought so many people together who shared an incredible passion for Mustangs. Check out the video!

So last December I took a cross-country trip with my pal Brian Scotto - the editor of 0-60 Magazine - in a 2010 Ford Mustang GT. Now that the 0-60 Magazine feature "East Bound and Down" is on news stand's - go get it, it's a great read - I can share some of the cool things we did and saw along the way. After leaving LA ,our first stop was the Sourdough Saloon in Rachel, Nevada. This is the local watering hole for a lot of manufacturer engineers while they are testing in Death Valley...

I think it's kind of funny how automakers say they will unveil their new models at big auto shows. I always picture a a cover being whisked awayas flash bulbs fire at the just-revealed car, but it lately it seems that's not really how it is. The new 2010 Mustang was said to be revealed at this month's LA Auto Show, but here we are with the fully revealed car long before the show opens it doors. I guess that's just how things are in today's times. Anyways, on to the new 'Stang....

As I sit here on yet ANOTHER humid and rainy day in Japan, I am reading stories from my friends back home in California talking of 110 degree heat. Yikes. Anyways, that got me thinking of shooting events at Buttonwillow Raceway during the summer and battling the dry heat and all the dust. Not fun. I took this photo during last year's Vintage Auto Racing Association meet, and you can almost feel the heat as you look at the photo. While the heat may have been bad, seeing cool stuff like Corvette...
