We just recently posted a video clip of the AMS Alpha 12 R35 recording low nine second ET's at the dragstrip. Well the boys were back at it again and this time managed to break the eight second barrier, with an 8.975 at 169 miles per hour. Need proof? Watch the video.
It also has some nice shotgun-view angles of passenger reaction (mild language warning, but can you blame some going for a ride in an eight second street car?).

Did you guys watch this week's episode of Top Gear? If you did then you might know why I've fallen in love with the R35 GT-R again. To add more fuel to the fire, here's a new clip of the AMS Alpha 12 GT-R lighting up the dyno to the modest tune of 1300 wheel horsepower, followed by a drag strip session of consistent low nine second quarter mile passes. The best run of the day was an astonishing 9.05 ET at 166.66 miles per hour.
I'm not sure what else to say other than "wow".

Just a great little shot we thought we'd post up thanks to our friends over at Crank and Piston . Are you enjoying life as much as the fellow behind the wheel of this GT-R? -Mike Garrett

After yesterday's persistent rain ended all hopes of any potential R31 meet at Daikoku things couldn't have been more different tonight. After the somewhat dismal R32 showing last year I was skeptical that more than a few cars would drop by, but I turned out to be wrong. I arrived just before 9 and already quite a few Skylines had gathered... ...all neatly lined up under the amber lights of the Parking Area. And so the Skyline Week finally kicks off! With hope of more cars joining in the...

The guys from Format67 have once again released a film, which is more of a stylized lifestyle piece than an actual film about a car. Though, there is car featured: a face-lifted 2012 Nissan GTR. This film was made to promote Nissan's upcoming iPad app, which shows the new GT-R in everyday life situations --be it a bit more glamorous....
This is the polar opposite of the Group B RX-7 video I posted; dramatic music, dramatic editing, and very little balls-to-the-walls driving. Some of you might like it, others, well, will not. I rather enjoyed this glamorized look into the life of a GTR owner.

There was the soft pitter-patter of dew as it journeyed its way down the trees, the gentle creaking of the moisture rich trees as they swayed in the breeze, and the soft rustle of the leaves. My wet boots sunk into the soft undergrowth and crunched along as I trundled through the forest. The clicks of my camera echoed in the stillness of the forest. The stillness was only broken by the sound of a pair of carbureted Nissan inline six engines. Those were not sounds that polluted the tranquil afternoon...

When you think of the tuning shop Top Secret, you normally would think that its prized shop cars, like their gold GTR, would be locked away deep somewhere deep in the garage. But instead, its kept outside in front of the shop for any passerby to see and maybe get curious enough to investigate the car, and the shop it belongs to. Head on over to the desktops section to grab this photo of the Top Secret GTR in both standard and widescreen formats. -Linhbergh

In this day and age, we're able to see everything around the world from the comfort of our internet devices. I'm sure you've seen every possibile combination for Civics, S-chassis, VWs, and BMWs if you're an avid car enthusiast who frequents the automotive 'nets. But something that can never get old is a bunch of beautifully restored classic Japanese cars. Video guy, Josh Clason, visited the guys from JDM Legends, in Utah, and created this short video of those classic creations that we all love.
Thank you Matt McDowell for the tip!

It seems like quite a bit of motorsport events this past weekend were plagued with a bit of rain. Good thing time attack cars race in the rain because photographer, Camden Thrasher, sent this fine desktop from the rain soaked Red Line Time Attack event at Infineon Raceway. So, head on over to the desktops section and download away. Racing looks so good in the wet. Look out for a guest blog from the Cobb Tuning driver, Cam Benner, featuring Camden's photography soon! -Linhbergh

Let's cut to the chase. I've never been in any car that accelerated as hard as this hairdresser's car and I've been in a lot of fast cars in my time as a speedhunter. Most of the really fast cars I've experienced were race cars of some sort. But this Mazda Roadster is born and bred to be a street car, putting down killer times at the drag strip is just a part time job for this little guy. I came across this car while perusing the pit lane of the Irwindale Thursday Night drags...

Quite a few drag Skylines posted here recently eh? Here's one more - a street car owned by Mark Riccioni from the UK. You might remember Mark's guest blog on his previous FD RX7 project. His latest project is this R32 GTR with a single turbo conversion and a dyno-proven 580 wheel horsepower.
After running a 10.90 on the car's third pass down the strip, Mark is looking to get his ET's nto the low 10, high 9 second range - all while remaining totally streetable.
Awesome.

The Algarve Autodrome's main straight is an automotive photographer's dream come true. The contemporary architecture of the main grandstand is a truly phenomenal compositional element. Add the just-as contemporary pit garages into the equation and what you end up with are some deeply dramatic lines of composition in whatever you photograph throughout pit lane. It's utterly brilliant. Oh, there's a GT1 spec Nissan GTR somewhere in this photo which also ready for desktop wallpaper consumption...

Things are a bit hectic in Holland right now. It has taken us 32 years but we reached the finals in the World Cup after beating Uruguay on Tuesady. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity. We meet with Spain on Sunday and I really hope we are going to party on Tuesday when we will pay homage to the new World Champions in Amsterdam with an expected 1 million visitors. But that's not it! The Tour de France has also started and champion, Lance Armstrong, is currently riding for team Radioshack...

Here are a few desktops for your optical enjoyment from the first day of FIA GT at Silverstone. Head on over to the desktops section to grab both standard and widescreen versions of each of these desktops! The Sumo Power GTR sitting in the pit lane during the morning's practice. Here's the other Sumo Power GTR out on the track. The highlighter green front is amazing. If you followed us on twitter and facebook , you probably saw this shot that we posted. A local event that is without doubt increasing in popularity in Australia, is the 'Time Attack' series. Paul Ruzic, the owner and director of 'Time Attack' holds these events bimonthly at the paperclip known as Queensland Raceway, and has recently announced Lakeside Raceway will also be a venue used starting from May this year. As per usual, the night before the event I set about getting ready for the big day on track; getting my camera equipment on charge and all set for action....

I've just uploaded some desktops from our Speedhunters trip to the McLaren technology centre: we were there for the launch of the MP4-12C sportscar, but the opportunity to take in their four F1s couldn't be missed: two with Le Mans pedigree and two road variants. Head over to the desktops section for a bit of orange heaven! More McLaren F1 GTR stories on Speedhunters McLaren Automotive

Well it's Friday, the last day of Skyline Week. Have you guys had enough yet? To finish off my journey through the Speedhunters archives, I've assembled a gallery highlighting some of the late model Skylines and GT-R's featured on the site. I've included V35 and V36 chassis cars, as well as the R35 GT-R....

Anniversaries, even significant ones, can often times come and go unnoticed by husbands and boyfriends the world over - apparently there is something lodged in our brains that makes us forget these dates! In 2009 however, there was one date on the calendar that gave these unlucky lads cause to celebrate. See, a few months ago, two guys set out to organise a national cruise to honour the vehicles they love and cherish – the R34 GT-R. Terry Tung-yep and Eugene Chan had thought long and hard about...

After checking out the GT-R from Flatwell everyone was talking about at the HKS Premium Day, I think it would be a pity of we didn't take a look at this equally impressive BNR34 built by Koizumi-san at Auto Gallery Yokohama. Looks wise this particular car is far simpler, fitted with only a few choice Nismo parts like the side and rear skirts as well as the rear overfender strips . But it's under the hood that things get very interesting. To any GTR- otaku out there, this set-up would be instantly...
