It's been a while since I posted a wallpaper so will have to rectify the situation by trying to post a few more this month. Starting with the HKS Gr.A GT-R from the recent HKS Premium Day event. Enjoy . -Dino Dalle Carbonare

After checking out the GT-R from Flatwell everyone was talking about at the HKS Premium Day, I think it would be a pity of we didn't take a look at this equally impressive BNR34 built by Koizumi-san at Auto Gallery Yokohama. Looks wise this particular car is far simpler, fitted with only a few choice Nismo parts like the side and rear skirts as well as the rear overfender strips . But it's under the hood that things get very interesting. To any GTR- otaku out there, this set-up would be instantly...

Among all the highly tuned Skyline GT-Rs at the HKS Premium Day there were a few that really stood out, one of them being this black BNR34 from Osaka-based tuning garage Flatwell . With lots of experience building time attack machines it's not surprising this latest creation of theirs looks so damn hot! The owner of the car, yes this is a privately owned street-driven car, has kept all of the exterior modification functional starting with that massive bi-wing carbon spoiler. Up front the C-West...

I feel like I need to show you guys as much as I possibly can from the HKS Premium Day, as this event was simply packed with some of the best tuner cars in Japan. We have already seen the HKS demonstrators and the Time Attack machines, not to mention some of the privately owned Hyper Challenge cars, so to finish the coverage it's time to take a look at pretty much everything else that was on display on the paddock. There was a good mix of old and new, like this original HKS Kansai Service BNR32...

Tsukuba may well be where the whole Time Attack thing originated from but it made for such a refreshing change seeing some of Japan's fastest tuner cars blasting around Fuji on Sunday at the HKS Premium Day. The long straight and the faster corners throw in a whole new challenge for competing teams with factors like aerodynamics coming in to play more. A lot of cars run longer final drives to gain extra top speed and resort to new suspension settings to tackle the challenging F1 track. The Autech...

To open the coverage on the HKS Premium Day it only seems fair to first dedicate some space to the best HKS cars that were present at Fuji this year, starting with the one everyone is talking about now, their SST Evo X. After bringing us the extreme CZ220S in 2009, based on the manual version of the CZ4A and proving the new 4B11 can generate just as much power as the older 4G63, it is now time to shift development to the 6-speed Getrag dual-clutch transmission that is fitted to the SST model. HKS...

The 2010 Tokyo Auto Salon left me feeling very positive, as the tuning industry seems to be slowly making a recovery after a troubled period. The show however, much like last year, was missing one of the biggest players in the Japanese tuning world, HKS. They had a tiny stand showcasing a few of their latest exhaust systems, but nothing like what we have been used to seeing at TAS from them. There is a reason behind this, and it took me all of ten minutes to realize why yesterday as I strolled through...

For February on Speedhunters, the crew and I want to try something a little different. We want to pass you the keys to the site and have you submit YOUR content to Speedhunters. We all gather on this site every day after all, so why not share with the Speedhunters your own automotive interests? We want to discover some new cool machines from all corners of the globe, like New Zealander Max Fouhy's S13. This car has perfect drift style! What other undiscovered gems are waiting to be uncovered...

There is a corner of Santa Pod that is forever Japan. It just seemed right to see the hordes of Japanese car clubs packing out the hard stand that runs alongside the drag strip: from the biggest, meanest supra-cars to more modest town hatchbacks via the cleanest classics this side of Tokyo. From the moment I arrived on-site it was clear just how popular the event is: the parking field was packed and the camping areas full of tents. The quarter mile provided the focus for the weekend - particularly...

February already! In celebration of Toyota Month on Speedhunters during February, Mike Garrett and I thought we would show off Manabu Orido in his WedsSport Lexus IS350 GT300 race car from the Super GT championship. This image was taken by Mike at the recent HKS Premium Day at the Fuji circuit. The calendar, available in two sizes are available in the desktops section of Speedhunters. - Andy Blackmore Speedhunters coverage of the HKS Premium Day

OK, now we go from the classics of the New Year Meeting back to coverage from the HKS Premium Day at Fuji Speedway, starting with another shot of NOB doing a demo run in the HKS Aristo. This was actually my first time shooting at Fuji's drift course, which I have to stay is quite impressive. It's really just a long stretch of pavement with a track built into it, but it packs a lot into a very compact space. If you've ever been to the Balcony at Willow Springs, then you can sort of get an idea of what FSW's drift course is like....

Now for some more action from the HKS Premium Day at Fuji Speedway. The challenge between the HKS CT230R and the GT300 race ars may have been for bragging rights only, but HKS took the battle quite seriously. As you can see in this opening shot, the car was under attention from the HKS mechanics throughout the day....

There were a few notable absences at Tokyo Auto Salon this year, and one of the big names without a booth at the show was HKS. That's not a big deal though, because instead of joining in on the chaos at Auto Salon, HKS waited a couple weeks and took over Fuji Speedway for the second "HKS Premium Day at FSW". As you'll see this event is not just a track day, but an entire day packed full of action on multiple tracks. To use the old cliche, there was something for everyone....

This weekend is a busy one for me. It started off this morning when I hit the road at 5am for the HKS Premium Day at Fuji Speedway, and tomorrow morning it's off to Tokyo for the JCCA New Year Meeting in Odaiba. I can hardly keep my eyes open right now, but I wanted to a couple quick teaser photos from today's action at Fuji....
