Hello Speedhunters! As Skyline Week comes to a close we have for you a small, but nonetheless beautiful, selection of R35s, G35s and a G37. Thanks to everyone who sent in their photos....

Four or five years ago, I was at the SEMA Show when I saw a black VIP Style Y33 Infiniti Q45 in the Falken booth. As I looked at the car, I was wondering what the hell it was. Surely it was some sort of JDM-only luxury car imported for the show. Only after a closer look did I realize it was a USDM Q45. Up until this point I'd never seen a modified Y33 in the flesh. With it's stock wheels and suspension, this model Q45 could almost be mistaken for a Mercury or a Buick, but as I found out, a few simple changes completely transform this car. That brings to me this ultra-sexy Q45 I spotted at the Autofashion meet last weekend....

From the moment, I pulled up to the Houston George Bush Intercontinental Airport in a Z11 Nissan Cube and met Rod Chong in a stripped Jacket followed by a ‘dude-awesome-rice’ comment by Linhbergh, I knew an adventure had begun. I grew up in London and moved to Houston nine years ago. For the past 4 years, my wife Deneice and I have owned a Japanese Arcade here called Planet Zero Anime Center; a place where video games, cars, anime and Japanese pop culture come together. I love what I...

At the recent Concourse event in Pebble Beach, Infiniti revealed the first renderings of the all new 2011 M Sedan. Using a clay model with projected with computer images, Infiniti certainly chose a classy place to show off their new flagship. With a bold new styling and more displacement under the hood, the new M should improve on what's already one of the best performing Japanese luxury sedans around....

In 2005 the first US Time Attack event was held at Buttonwillow California. Like most companies K&N decided to give this new form of racing a try. We set out to turn our outdated 2003 G35 into a full on race car. Unfortunately there were some snags along the way. The car made it to SEMA, was featured in magazines but never made it to the track. This will all change in 2009; once again the car will receive a full makeover and be re-incarnated into a meaner, more track worthy competitor. Here is...

We've looked at some very expensive vehicles, lets look at some more affordable debuts from Geneva earlier this week. In Europe, the hot-hatch is popular. Ford's new Focus RS appears to be the new king, but hot on their heels are two new cars from Alfa Romeo and Renault. The Renault Megane RS250 is the latest 'RenaultSport' creation, this time using the new Megane Coupe which made its debut last year at the Paris Motor Show. The new car has a new 2 Litre 16 valve engine which develops...

Although some people may think the body style is past due for the next stage of evolution, the 2008 Infiniti M45S (equipped with the Sport Package) still brings a smile to my face. Perhaps it is the way the responsive steering feels or the rumble of the 325 horsepower V8 underneath my right foot - either way I usually approach and leave the car with the same smile. Infiniti has produced a long line of solid luxury cars which for some reason have not gotten the recognition that I feel they deserve...

Toyota and Lexus are known for making some great luxury sedans, but Nissan is right up there with them. Check out this Nissan Fuga 450GT (Infiniti M45 elsewhere) sitting low on a set of 20" BBS LM wheels in Osaka. In stock form these cars are already pretty cool, and with just a few minor mods they make for some of the coolest luxury sedans anywhere. Personally, I really dig this simpler style as opposed to the more aggressive VIP sedans. I have noticed that BBS LM's have been getting REALLY popular from the VIP crowd here in Japan and it's pretty easy to see why when looking at cars like this....

When the R34 Skyline chassis was replaced with the all new V35 chassis near the beginning of the decade, it marked a dramatic change in the Skyline lineage. Gone were the turbocharged inline six engines of the past, and in its place was Nissan's new VQ series V6 engines. Although the newer Skylines have sold fairly well in Japan, they still haven't reached the popularity of the older models as far as tuning goes.To be honest, I haven't really learned to love the V35 coupes, but I am quite fond of the sedans....

Well, here we go. I have been thinking of what I was going to write in this post for a while now. As you have probably seen in the past, the definition of what "VIP style" is has been discussed and debated quite a bit over the past several years. In the end I decided that instead of trying to define exactly what VIP style is (which may be impossible), I will give my own perceptions on the VIP movement based on what I have experienced myself over the past few years. Of course let me say that I am not an expert on VIP stuff nor have I ever built a VIP car so I suppose this will become just another viewpoint in the "VIP debate". Hopefully it will at least have some good reasoning behind it......
