Just about a year ago, we featured the Sportcar Motion time attack Integra Type R and since then it has gone through a bit of change. Looking at the car from the front will give you a big hint at one of the many changes to the car. Hint: Front mounted Intercooler. The USDM K24 engine with a K20 head has now received a bit of boost with the help of a Kraftwerks rotrex supercharger. The previous all that motor setup produced 305 horsepower and 231 ft-lbs of torque. Now, with the supercharger, it produces...

I finally got around to uploading a desktop of Darren's DA Integra from the California Dreamin' story. Head over to the desktops section to grab this image in both regular and widescreen formats. - Paddy McGrath

I always find it funny that you never really appreciate what is on your own doorstep. Whilst we look on in constant envy of what those far away from us have got, we never really appreciate what we have before us. This was our subject of conversation as we stood around this rather marvellous DA Integra in a previously busy industrial area, an area now left to ruin by the economic downturn. We joked about how the USA readers of Speedhunters would probably disregard this as just another modified Integra...

As part of my contributions for Honda Month, I thought it would be fitting to take a look back through my archives and post some Honda-related photos from Japan. During my numerous trips to nearby Tsukuba Circuit, I caught countless Hondas doing their thing on the track. For this first selection, I've assembled a group of front-drive Honda shots for your viewing pleasure....

While looking for some nice build threads for his month I came across this blog called projectDC5 . The car belongs to Ronald Gosens who also happens to own Showoff Imports, one of the biggest tuning stores in Europe. I met Ronald almost ten years ago when we were both part of the same crew called Streetlegal Honda. So it was cool to catch up and see what he has been up to. The car you see before you started life as a standard Integra that was imported from Japan. Ronald used the car as a daily driver...

This week I got an invitation to take a look at the Rising Sun Performance shop. They specialize in Hondas and had several vehicles in their shop. I was greeted by the DC5 Integra you see in the opening shot. For you US readers a familiar car but for us Europeans it's a bit more special. Because we never got them through the official route so all the DC5s you see in Europe are imported. When I entered the building it looked a lot bigger than the outside led me to believe. The entrance is on the...

For the opening round of this year’s Super Taikyu Series I ventured up to a very blustery Motegi; and as expected, it didn’t disappoint. Super Taikyu (Taikyu means endurance in Japanese) is in its 20 th season this year, and although less well-known than its high-flyin’ sibling SUPER GT, the series produces great races with lots of action across its five classes (STI – ST5). It’s comprised entirely of privateer teams running Group N GT cars, and modifications from the...

While walking around the Hellaflush meeting earlier this month, I saw all sorts of car that were spotlight, or even feature-worthy. Keeping in mind what we've already featured this month, I tried to find cars that were a bit different than those. We've seen a lots of Nissans and Infinitis, various European cars, and drift cars this month, but not too many Hondas. Civics and Integras have been done in every style under the sun, and there are no shortage of "flush" Hondas out there these days. There are a lots of cheesy and poorly executed examples to be found, but rare is a properly done car like this DC2 Integra....

It has been a while, with a long summer break, but the British Touring Car Championship returned to the track last weekend at Snetterton, in Norfolk. Current Champion Fabrizio Giovanardi and Colin Turkington shared the top spot of the podium during the three race event. Turkington was a little fortunate to take the final race win of the day after original winner, James Nash, was excluded. Jason Plato started the day in pole position for Race One in his Silverline Racing Chevrolet Lacetti. Turkington...

The next round of the BTCC is at Thruxton in Hampshire at the end of this month, but in the meantime here is some more behind the scenes eye candy from the opening Brands Hatch round. BTCC pit garages are highly professional, spotless places: check out the Vauxhall pits. From what I've seen Auto Glym is obviously the number one product around here, as despite all the panel bashing and gravel collected during the races all the teams are constantly polishing their cars. There's never much time...

The first three races of the 2009 British Touring Car Championship may have lacked the usual outcome of season debuts - ie. half the cars ending up as scrap - but it certainly didn't lack for action. Initially pole man Mat Neal lost the lead off the line to the Rob Collard and Colin Turkington's BMWs. There was the usual dogfight on the sprint down to Paddock: Jonathan Adam's BMW was fired off the track as Stephen Jelly's BMW was sandwiched by Adam and Gordon Shedden's Civic....

There were some last minute returnees to the first round of Britain's favourite 'roundy-roundy' racing, but none more high profile than crowd favourite Jason Plato. Left high and dry by the works SEAT team closure and having not scored a drive over the winter, British race engineering specialists RML rustled up a car for him: a 2008 works Chevy Lacetti. Although the BTCC has lost last year's surprise indy success story, Mat Jackson, there's still strength up front, and the top...

I sometimes joke with people that my happiness is directly affected by my distance to a computer screen.... Perhaps this is more true that I care to admit; it's the weekend and I've been sitting in front of my computer at home all morning working, surfing and watching videos..... oh well... might as well not fight it.... During my puttering across the net this morning, I found this photostream from a young talented photographer by the name of Kyle Crawford . He shows a bit of promise, don't...

I know this is Porsche month, but after spending last Friday at Tsukuba Circuit for the first ever I Heart Honda!! event, I just can't seem to get the sound of screaming VTEC engines out of my head. What is it about Honda? Japan's automotive scene has no shortage of remarkable machines like high-powered GT-R highway racers, time attack Imprezas, four-door Toyota drift cars, or groundbreaking rotary cars, but there is just something special about Honda's performance cars. You can check out my earlier article about Honda's Collection Hall at Twin Ring Motegi for a little more on Honda's unique history and the brand's lifelong infusion with motorsports around the world. While Honda's in-house racing programs are nothing short of amazing, the I Heart Honda!! event was not really about Honda's factory racing ventures, but a celebration of Japanese Honda Tuning on a grand scale....

This 1998 Integra sports some Rota Grids in 16x8 with a +20 offset all round. The wheel setup looks really aggressive and really suits the car. It looks like it sees some track action now and then. The roll cage and the auxiliary power connectors are dead giveaways. I really wonder what lies beneath the hood. I remember a time when you were the man when you had a B16 or a B18 in your CRX but nowadays you don't count anymore unless you have a K20. Boy... do I miss the old days. -Jeroen Willemsen...

My father was a bit of a car nut. He introduced me to the term "kicking the tires" at the local dealerships. We weren't a particularly brand loyal family either. Dad cycled through Chevy V8's and even an '86 Corolla (At the time this was the new hotness!). (The image is from a Toyota brochure circa 1980's, and isn't the exact car that he had) My first car was the epitome of reliably bland. A 1990 Toyota Tercel (Thank wikipedia for the image of exactly what my lump of...

Since we already posted a previous story about Battle of the Imports, I thought I'd just make a quick gallery of some of the drag Hondas at the event. There were TONS of them all over the place! It seems like Battle of the Imports is the place to be if you want to see the best of the privateer drag race prepared Hondas. The west coast had a strong showing at this event, but I know it's only a fraction of the cars that are really out there! It seemed like there were quite a few drag Hondas...

Since Antonio poised me with his ‘offset is everything' motto I keep finding cars with ridiculous amount of camber. These wheel setups always sparks a lot of controversy amongst our readers. It's cool to see people discuss these kind of things and ventilate their opinions on what they like and dislike in a respectful manner. I know lot's of camber doesn't always make sense, but it just looks so damn cool. The same goes for this front wheel drive Honda Integra, wheels used are...

White and Matte Black are two colors that are very popular amongst tuners these days. A good friend of mine imported a black DC2 a few years ago, unfortunalty he turned it into a show car with a flip/flop paint job to promote his own company. When looking at the example in the picture, there's no denying that Honda made some of the most desirable cars in the import car scene. Found on the JDM Style Tuning Forum
