The past few days have been great for the city of Manchester. Man City beat Tottenham 5-1, while United pummeled the Gunners 8-2. But for car enthusaists in Manchester, the Bank Holiday will be remembered for a different reason: the sound of Jenson Button's McLaren F1 screaming through the heart of the city. Straight after taking third place in the Belgian Grand Prix, Jenson Button today flew in to Manchester for the Vodafone VIP Fan Zone event in Albert Square. Before getting behind the wheel...

I think very few people would disagree that the McLaren MP4/4 was one of the greatest Formula 1 cars ever produced. It was campaigned in the 1988 season, where Ayrton Senna was paired up with Alain Prost, leading to one of the biggest team-mate rivalries of all time.

The MP4/4 was utterly dominant, winning 15 out of the 16 races, with no less than ten 1-2 finishes.

A big reason for the McLaren's success was its powerplant. Although Honda was successful with Williams the previous season, the H logo found itself on the cowling of the red and white McLaren for the 1988 season. In the turbo-era of F1, Honda's 1.5 litre V6 was simply untouchable.

Here's a cool video from the archives, with McLaren's current drivers Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton visiting Senna's Formula 1 machine.

Want to experience a lap of Bathurst with a Formula 1 car? This onboard lap with McLaren driver, Jensen Button, is the closest many of us will get to experience just that.

Watch and be amazed.

“These guys are crazy – they really are. This place is fantastic. Television just doesn’t do it justice” said Jenson Button. Motor racing fanatics were given something truly mouth-watering when McLaren driver Jenson Button became the first to lap the Mount Panorama circuit in a Formula One car. ...

March 18 turned out to be a pivotal day for the famous McLaren team. The day was marked for the launch of their new supercar, the McLaren MP4-12C – announced as a concept last year and now about to be unveiled for the first time in public at the architecturally stunning McLaren Technology Centre in Woking, Surrey. But amazing as the car is in its own right, it also marked a huge shift for the team as they announced they were entering the shark-infested waters of becoming a car manufacturer...

I think I'm going to be in a bad mood today... The reason? Speedhunters had an invitation to attend the launch of the new car brand McLaren Automotive at their space age facility in Woking, UK. Right now I could be rubbing shoulders with Ron Dennis, but instead I'm sitting here tapping on my keyboard at the EA office in Vancouver, Canada... BBOOOO!

Oh well, Jonathan Moore will be able offer us a rather exclusive glimpse into the world of McLaren instead... Watch out for the story shortly... and Jonathan can you ask Jenson for a pair of Sunglasses for me?

Mclaren have also just released this vid, showing what went down when Lewis and Jenson got their paws on the new MP4-12C

Formula One is not usually on the SpeedHunters menu, however we would like to salute the achievements of Jenson Button and Brawn GP who took the 2009 Drivers' and Constructors' World Championships at Interlagos, Brazil, yesterday. This achievement is all the more incredible as just eight months ago the team did not exist but it rose phoenix like out of the ashes of Honda's Formula One departure. After a disastrous 2008 season many long hours were put in through last winter developing...

We have posted a couple of Formula 1 articles this year, so I thought it would be a good time to bring Speedhunters up to date with the fantastic achievements of the Independents in Formula One. We have already had five rounds of the 2009 season, four 'fly-away' races and last weekends Spanish GP. Brawn GP’s Jenson Button has won four of the races, while Red Bull’s Sebastien Vettel won in China, Red Bull's first win. It’s a remarkable achievement for the two independent...
