As the heat and humidity subsided and the action at Palm Beach International Raceway came to an end, a winner had to be picked and Justin Pawlak is the one. Vaughn Gittin Jr. took second and Darren McNamara stood on third. An all Falken podium and the second all ASD podium. Congratulations to Justin and to all of Team Falken! -Linhbergh P.S. Last week I took a ride up to nearby Gardena to visit Formula Drift competitor and RX7 maniac Justin Pawlak's shop - Hot Line. Hot Line has has been doing business in the LA area for almost a year and half now, and I was long overdue for a visit. ...

Our good friend Justin Pawlak had some very disturbing news for us this morning - his truck and trailer had been stolen with his green FC RX7 drift car inside.
Here's Justins's description of the stolen items -
"Last night around 1am my 2004 chevy 2500hd with my 26' enclosed aztex trailer were stolen. inside the trailer was my green fc rx7, 2 18x11 ssr type f wheels, and 2 18x10.5 volk te37's. Also in the trailer were a craftsman tool box full of tools. Please be on the look out for any and all of these."
It was stolen from Maywood Street in the Eagle Rock area.
Here's a link to the photo of the truck and trailer - http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y203/Justone1/IMG00142.jpg
Those of you in California - If you've seen anything that resembles this, please contact your local law enforcement immediately or contact Justin at 623-332-6766 or by email at jtpawlak (at) gmail.com.
Let's help Justin get his stuff back, and put the low-lifes responsible for this where they belong.

Last week Vaughn Gittin Jr. emailed me asking if I wanted to come check out the Barrett Jackson car auction in Orange County, where he'd be doing drift demonstrations with Ford. Typically these sort of Hawaiian-shirt collector car events are a bit outside of our focus, but I figured why not have a look?
Not really sure what to expect, I made the short trip to the OC Fairgrounds on Friday to check it out....

For this month's edition of our Falken Drift report, we decided we'd focus on the newest member of the team - Justin Pawlak.
Immediatlley after FD New Jersey, we put together some questions for Justin, asking him about his new life behind the wheel of the Falken Mustang, his experience at Wall Speedway, and much more....

Some more big news for Formula Drift today. Falken Tire has just announced the latest addition to their drift team for 2010 - Justin Pawlak. Justin will be driving an ASD-prepped 2010 Ford Mustang similar to Vaughn Gittin Jr.'s - making for two Mustangs on the Falken team. This is huge news for Team Falken, and a big move for JTP, who impressed last season in the Bergenholtz RX8. The 2010 season just keeps sounding better and better... For more info, check out the press release Falken put up...

What’s up Speedhunters, my name is Justin Pawlak, or better known as “JTP”. I’m the Formula D driver of the Bergenholtz Racing/Nitto Tires Mazda RX8. I would say most people know me from my ever changing FC RX7. I got into drifting in late 2005 at the Drift Day Industry Drift 1. I had recently moved to California to work at AEM and had bought my FC in hopes of becoming a professional drifter. Surprisingly enough I had driven that same car until this past year when I stepped into the 2009 Mazda RX8....

Even as I write this night practice is still going on under the lights at Irwindale Speedway, but we figured we should put post an update from the first day of the FD season finale. With one of the biggest driver entry lists of the year, qualifying was made all the more difficult as veterans, privateers, and newcomers alike fought for a spot in tomorrow's Top 32 competition....

As we start to wind-down the summer of 2009, and gear ourselves up for the autumn and holiday season to come, let's take a look back at one of the greatest ricer events this year: the Just Drift/Ziptied All Star Bash '09! This event is more than just a mere drift event. All Star Bash is a weekend long party celebrating tire smoke, horse power, grassroots drifting style and flare, and a just enjoying sport for what it is --pure fun. It is also a weekend of celebration to the grassroots US...

What makes for a good drama? Upsets, the spreading of rumors, unplanned breakdowns, and let downs of expectations? Those are all things that can happen. And thats exactly what unfolded during the top 32 round at Formula D Sonoma at the famous Infineon Raceway. So, as we left the track, many questions loomed in our minds. And tomorrow, those questions will be answered... -Linhbergh Nguyen

For some reason, people have a tendency to underestimate Bergenholtz Racing. That's a mistake. Big mistake. Bergenholtz Racing was the most successful privateer drag racing team in the NHRA Sport Compact Series, using unrelenting determination and ingenuity to clown the big dollar budget of GM over and over and over again. Don't believe it? There's a display case full of Wallies (the coveted NHRA Wally Parks trophy) at Ron Bergenholtz's Orange County home to prove it. Ron B and the...

Over the next few weeks, as everyone anxiously awaits the start of the racing season, lots of car builders from all over are preparing their new cars. While this particular car is not intended for professional drifting use, I thought I'd just show some snaps of this Mazda FC3S truck that's being built at JTP Motorsports, the garage of Formula D FC3S driver Justin Pawlak . While we have shown you other FC3S trucks on Speedhunters previously, this particular FC3S truck is a bit different because...

I realize everyone wants to see more photos, but it's 4:00 AM right now, and we have to be at the track early tomorrow morning to shoot the actual Formula D event. So I'll keep it short and sweet. I have a ton of photos from Formula D practice and qualifying today, but I'll just leave you with this one photo. Justin Pawlak, who normally drives a blue FC3S Turbo II RX-7, blew his motor prior to qualifying. Luckily for Justin, he was able to borrow an S13 from an East Coast Drift Alliance...
