By now our readers have probably seen the great video footage that Rod shot at Porschewerks Leipzig for the 911 RS vs 911 GT2 feature on Speedhunters. While you all are capable of Googling the specs and numbers on the Porsche 911 GT2, I wanted to talk for a minute about how the car felt when I was driving it. The GT2 I drove was actually a Clubsport edition GT2 - an instructor car from Porsche's Sport Driving School at Leipzig. The Clubsport designation means it comes equipped with a bolt-in...

It's not every day you get to see and touch a real Porsche 911 Carrera RS. There are many, many clones out there, but a real production RS is a very rare car. The RS initials stand for Rennsport , which basically means racing sport in German - it was, in essence, a race car, specially produced by Porsche in the early 1970s. The car I got to photograph and ride in on the Speedhunters trip to Leipzig was a 1973 model - pristine white with green wheels and Carrera stripe going across the sides of...

Just when you thought we were done posting stuff this week, I thought I'd just hit you up with this teaser photo... Desktop, wallpaper, whatever you want to call it... to celebrate the ongoing Porsche month on Speedhunters, I just uploaded a new addition into our Speedhunters Desktops section . It's a photo of a pristine white 1973 Porsche 911 RS (a real RS from the Porsche museum, not a clone) that I shot in Germany, while we were on our Speedhunters Euro Trip. This authentic RS was being...

One of the cooler things we did while on we were on the Speedhunters Euro Trip was visit the Porsche Leipzig facility and test track in Germany. Driving through the German countryside, I was amazed at the things I saw - gorgeous green rolling hills, lots of modern looking white windmills, and pre- World War II brick buildings. I was even more amazed when I realized we were driving roughly 200km/h on the Autobahn in our hybrid Lexus SUV bumping NWA out of Rod's iPod. Hilarious!!! For those of...

Around two weeks ago, the Speedhunters crew had the special opportunity to meet and interview famed Japanese Porsche tuner and drift culture pioneer, Nakai-san from Rauh Welt. As the man who created so many of the key style elements that we see on today's drift cars, I wanted to try and understand why he had chosen to now devote his life to building and tuning Porsches. Why would one of the original founders of the old school drift crew, Rough World, only focus on building rear-engined German...

I'm having a real moment here....... a moment where I feel EXTREMELY thankful to be able to see and experience some amazing European automotive cultures and meet the inspiring people who have devoted themselves to designing, engineering, promoting and driving these moving pieces of art. Wow..... Anyway... I have to start packing up my hotel room here for a haul across Germany but I thought I'd quickly share a few "moments" from the past few days. Expect to see full reports in the...

As some of you may or may not know, certain members of our international Speedhunters team are currently traveling through Europe. While we have been keeping ourselves extremely busy tailgating people around the Autobahn, meeting new friends, eating at new places, visiting legendary race tracks, driving cool cars, and searching for drinks that actually have ice in them... We realize that we still have a responsibility to update the site with photos of our adventures. Tonight after dinner, I somehow...
