The 2010 Motor Show season starts this week with the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. Previously a show, full of announcements, the economic downturn and the state of the local car industry has pushed this show to an also-ran in the Motor Show season. The biggest news is the worldwide debut of the new all-world Ford Focus. Previously, North America has been laden with a reshelled version of the original Ford Focus which debuted back in 1998, while the rest of the World has a class...

Let's continue my coverage of the Essen Motor Show with my second installment. Looking for Japanese cars on a German car show proved to be difficult. I found two S14s and this was one of them. It features what looks like a URAS bodykit and can be seen in action during the King Of Europe drifting championship. The wheels are made by Alutec, a major sponsor in drifting events throughout Germany, and go by the name Toxic. Another car I was looking for was the new Volkswagen Scirocco. But again I...

The Essen Motor Show is in full swing and I was there to capture it all on camera. I noticed that there were less tuners and fewer cars than previous years, but still there were some fine examples to be found. I'll start with showing you the diversity of cars that can be found inside the Messe. Of course there are lots Porsches, this version made by Speedart grabbed my attention with its red accents. This BTR-580 had its premiere on the Essen Motor Show and is based on the 997 Turbo 3.8l. I will...

Okay, let's continue right on with more coverage from the 2009 SEMA Show. I'll start with this 1984 CRX Mugen Prototype that Honda brought out. A 1980's Honda might not be the first thing you associate with the SEMA Show, but who doesn't like vintage Japanese tuner cars? It was cool to see Honda pulling old cars out of it's collection for the SEMA display....

I'm back home in Los Angeles now, still feeling the pain from three days of traversing the Las Vegas Convention Center, and glad to be done with the crowds and madness of Vegas. Now that I'm settled in at home, it's time to dig in for some more coverage from the show. One trend that's seemed to stand the test of time is pro-touring muscle cars. Even though you can buy brand new retro muscle cars from these days, I guess you can't beat the real thing. The 'Cuda above was one of my favorites. Under the gleaming bodywork is a twin turbo Viper V10....

Alright let's jump right into some photographs and impressions from my second day of walking the halls of the Las Vegas Convention Center at the 2009 SEMA Show. Up above is something that should excite the traditional "JDM Tuning" fans, a super clean R34 Skyline GT-R found in the Rotora Brakes booth....

Ah yes, the chaos of SEMA. After a an early flight from LAX I rushed to the Las Vegas Convention Center this morning for the first day of the 2009 SEMA Show. Although my legs are already numb from walking so much, I've only been able to get through a small portion of SEMA's exhibit halls. Here are some highlights and observations from what I've managed to take in so far -...

The North American International Auto Show in takes place in Detroit this week. A number of manufactures including Nissan have pulled out, but despite this, there are some cool new production and concept cars. First up, we have the Volkswagen Concept Blue Sport. Although a concept, the mid-engined rear wheel drive roadster looks production ready and looks like a baby Audi R8 with the fender creases. Maybe this was an Audi concept in a previous life. I wouldn't be surprised. The roadster is powered...

OK here's our second take on the Essen Motor Show. This time we'll start with the rear of the Audi R8 LMS. I just love how aggressive it looks. I just read a report that Audi will debut their R8 V10 street car during the Detroit Motor Show- I'm really curious at how it will look. What do you guys think of this Brabham BT92? The wheels aren't really my taste but the bodykit looks very nice and flows well with the rest of the car. Like I said in my previous post there is not a whole...

Tuesday morning I hit the road with a good friend of mine towards Essen, Germany; the place to be this week for European car fans. Inside the Messe building, resided one of the largest gathering of tuned cars in Europe.... But you won't find any tuned Hondas with large bodykits or fancy paintjobs at Essen; it's more like an aftermarket show with high end cars and famous tuners from Germany like Techart and Brabus. In the opening shot you can see what I mean.... This photo just a small section...

In our second post we will look at the Asian and North American manufactures who launched products at the show. Hyundai Genesis Coupe- Hyundai showed this body kitted version of their soon to be launched Genesis Coupe which has been seen in North America. The Kia-Hyundai group continue to launch massively improved cars.I can't get use to that rear quarter window! Honda Insight- Looks like a well designed Prius a bit doesn't it? Well, the similarities do not end there. This is Honda's...

The Paris Motor Show is currently taking place in France. Lots of car launches have been announced so following the success of our London round up, here comes the first of two posts on the French show. In this post we concentrate on the European cars. The most talked about car at the show was the new Lamborghini Estoque concept. We'll talk about that in a minute, but I'll focus on a couple of more affordable cars first. Volkswagen Golf GTi Concept Doesn't seem that long ago that the 5th...
