9ff unveiled this new version of the GT9 at the recent Essen Motor Show. It was specifically built for a customer that wanted a car that looked good and could hold its own on the track. 9ff dubbed the car CS or Club Sport. It's based on the original GT9 that was unveiled at the 2007 Essen Motor Show. The GT9 CS is an evolution of the GT9 that was built for top speed runs. After the GT9 came the GT9-R that I featured last year during the My Car Show in Dortmund. This CS is the latest addition...

After our look at the Tuners and the Race & Drift cars at the Essen Motor Show, let's turn our attention to the street cars. The show always has a great mix of cars, from the good, to the bad. There really is something for everyone! OZ Razing had some cool wheels on display including this Leggenda Racing model. It comes in 17" and you can order it in this matte black finish with white lettering or with a matte white finish with red lettering. Besides the replica Renault 5 Turbo race...

Due to certain circumstances I wasn't able to finish off my Essen Show reports, but I'm back and I still had these photos lying around so let us resume the original coverage I had planned. It was cool to see that Mercedes had a big presence with a line-up of their iconic classic cars. You have already seen some of their prototypes in part two but this 300SL took the crown. It was truly immaculate inside and out. This Wiesmann is a perfect example of new technique in an old style body. The...

It's time for a second look at the Essen Motor Show . I did a random snap on this this VW pick-up truck in October. It stood in the Galleria, where you could find all sorts of weird contraptions on wheels. Another familiar face was this replica Z-tune built by Japo Motorsport . The car still looked impeccable. A car I would take with me in a heartbeat. The other star on the Japo Motorsport stand was this EVO with all the carbon you could ever want. This reminds me to visit the shop as soon as...

I have visited the Essen Motor Show numerous times but this year had to be one of the greatest. The amount of cars was enormous and it is starting to look like the European Sema Show. A few of the biggest tuners from Germany were also present like Brabus and Techart. I will showcase their cars in two separate posts. If you haven't seen the show yet I highly recommend going there, the show lasts until 6 December. Let's quickly start with the cars that were on the show floor. One of the stars...

Time for my final review of SEMA. I hope these reviews have given you a good insight into this huge trade show. Back to the cars. The Honda stand was simple and low budget (hey, Green carpet, we have a stand!), but had a great variety of CR-Z’s from various builders including in-house 'Honda Design' (Red CR-Z) and Honda Performance Development, better known for their ALMS racecars. This was the first time I had seen the new Honda CR-Z in the flesh and I have to admit, I was impressed...

We hope you are enjoying our extensive coverage of SEMA. This time around, I'll focus on some of the European and Exotic vehicles at the show. There is always a lack of European cars at SEMA, this year was no exception. Despite this, there were a few highlights. This always had a crowd around it. A BMW E92 Vorsteiner 'GTRS3' widebody was covered in Satin Silver Vinyl by Waptivo. This clean M3 sedan was subtle for a SEMA show........until you opened the hood. How about a G-Power supercharger...

Yesterday the 2010 Los Angeles Auto Show kicked off with the first of two press-only days. Same as last year, I headed downtown to take a look at the latest batch of new models and concept cars.
While the mainstream media is busy touting of all the green and electric vehicles at the show, I found there was also plenty for the old fashioned gearheads to enjoy as well....

The SEMA Show is huge! In recent years, the parking lots and even delivery areas have been used for displays. In this post, I'm going to concentrate on the cars outside. The Source Interlink Group had a diverse display of project cars, located between the halls. I particularly liked this vibrant Mazda RX-4. Great contrast with the Orange and Black. Under the hood lives a 2JZ! The famous 'Project X' also reappeared this year. Since its debut in Popular Hot Rodding magazine over 40 years...

Following on from Mike Garrett’s great coverage of SEMA, I’ll follow up with the first of my general observations at the show. One of my favorite cars at the show was this 1970 Camaro by Spectre. Originally purchased on eBay from the Chicago Police(!) this car became a development workhouse for Spectre before a full rebuild recently. A new LS1 power plant was sourced. I love the bodywork changes which includes Carbon nose, hood and trunk. I could live with that! Staying with the Camaro...

Early November is always a crazy time of year - with SEMA, the VIP Festival, and Super Lap Battle all happening within a week of each other.
On that note, it's time for me to move right along and wrap up my coverage of last week's SEMA Show. Here's one last general look at the show floor....

Immediately after the debut of the RTR-X yesterday, I set off to begin my coverage of the 2010 SEMA show - armed with my camera and my most comfortable walking shoes. By the time the day had come to a close, I'd only managed to hit one hall of the massive event.
Here are a few highlights from my first day of hiking around the Las Vegas Convention Center....

The Paris Motor Show may have long gone, but there was a real sense of optimism at the event, following the long period of uncertainty brought on by the credit crisis. While I wasn’t at the event, the designers I have spoken to say there was a new sense of adrenaline and get up and go as companies realize they have to deliver ‘now’ as the market is recovering. Concepts were in abundance, as they are quicker to produce than a production car. Many people write off concepts, but they...

The 2010 Motor Show season starts this week with the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. Previously a show, full of announcements, the economic downturn and the state of the local car industry has pushed this show to an also-ran in the Motor Show season. The biggest news is the worldwide debut of the new all-world Ford Focus. Previously, North America has been laden with a reshelled version of the original Ford Focus which debuted back in 1998, while the rest of the World has a class...

Let's continue my coverage of the Essen Motor Show with my second installment. Looking for Japanese cars on a German car show proved to be difficult. I found two S14s and this was one of them. It features what looks like a URAS bodykit and can be seen in action during the King Of Europe drifting championship. The wheels are made by Alutec, a major sponsor in drifting events throughout Germany, and go by the name Toxic. Another car I was looking for was the new Volkswagen Scirocco. But again I...
