I might be just a little biased in favor of the new Chevrolet Camaro. After all, it's the car that won me a hundred bucks.
No, I didn't win an outlaw street race. In fact I won the money long before my week-long test drive of the 2010 Camaro SS. ...

Hey Speedhunters! Love the site, been sifting through for a few years now, love how it effortlessly moves through such a variety of cars and related culture, from traditional rodding to flushed out drifters.
This is my '73 Plymouth 'Cuda, my first car, a long term project, and my introduction to working on cars.

Hey Speedhunters,
My name is Kevin Cederwall from Walnut Creek California. I’ve been working on cars and dreaming about having a nice one of my own since before I could even drive. I got extremely lucky though when the opportunity to pick up one of my relative's 68 Dodge Charger came along.
This whole process started about 3-4 years ago at around the age of 16, when I picked the car up from his house not knowing what I was getting myself into. But I learned quickly and started with tinkering on the car, with mostly small projects. ...

The Mustang RTR-C is simply a far-fetched dream of mine that came true thanks to the hard work and dedication from everyone that I teamed up with for the project. While it started as a one-off SEMA project and a sick street car for me to rock, it has spawned into something much bigger and has turned into the inspiration of me wanting to create the more affordable Mustang RTR and the overall RTR brand. My initial vision was pretty simple, I wanted to build the most badass modern Ford Mustang street...

A few weeks ago the wife and I picked up a much-need bookshelf for my office. As I unpacked boxes of magazines and books that had been stored away for a couple years, I came across a stack of Hot Rod magazines from the late '60s and early '70s. I think I paid about five dollars for the whole bunch at a swap meet several years ago. There's really no better way to look at automotive history than browsing through the pages of a vintage magazine.
The articles, the photography, the advertisements, and even the smell of the pages - it's quite the experience. ...

I've got a few more posts to churn out before the year's up. First up, I want to quickly share this special set of photos with you. They were taken by our in-house artiste-as-photographer: Linhbergh Nguyen this past April at the birthplace of hot rodding: the El Mirage Dry Lakes . Those of you familiar with the history of Hot Rodding will know that it's at locations like the El Mirage dry lakes in the Mojave Desert where the pioneers of the scene first organized land speed record top...

With the Mustang, Ford is in possession of a very valuable property: a modern car with soul and character. Think about it: the vast majority of car companies these days make all of their models with uniform styling features. It's even hard to distinguish between different cars of the same class these days. It's for this reason I've developed a bit of a soft spot for this retro macho machine, especially the hotted up versions that companies like Shelby and now RTR are putting out. The...

Of all the "new" pony cars on the market today I like the look of the Mustang the best. In my books, it's the only one of the three which doesn't look over bloated and fat compared to its original version. SEMA itself was filled with modified 2010 Mustangs, most of which didn't do much for me though. I also didn't pay much attention to most of the big wheeled Pro Touring "Stangs either... But there was one Mustang that caused me to stop in my tracks: the JM Enterprises...

"I'm afraid of Americans" was the name of a David Bowie song of recent times... I have to say I can relate to this song a little bit. As a Canadian who spent most of my adult life living in the UK, I find America to be a crazy, intriguing and perhaps slightly intimidating place. Sometimes, it's every bit as foreign to me as some of you would consider say Germany or even Japan. That said, I do love many aspects of the country and its people. The can do attitude is something that...

The Langley 'Good Times' Cruise-in started in 1997 by a group of classic car enthusiasts. Eleven years on, and the small town, just outside of Vancouver is now one of the largest cruises in North America. Classic car TV personality and handbar moustache owner (!) Dennis, Gauge puts it in his top 10. I hadn't been to the Cruise before, so I didn't know what to expect, but I came away massively impressed. In this post we'll concentrate on Domestic cars, but Part Two will feature...

And finally, the last video in our triple ensemble of American Drift beasts: Vaughn Gitten Jr's Falken Tires Ford Mustang. I'm well pleased with how this film has turned out! Make sure you crank your speakers right up when you watch this... We made sure to add extra engine sounds just for you lot. I'm sure you'll agree this is the best Car Tour yet!...

What could be better than seeing a bunch of cool hot rods and pro touring muscle cars underneath the skyline of one of America's most historic cities? How about seeing a bunch of cool hot rods and muscle cars being thrashed on an autocross course at the same event? Speedhunters forum member MarlowLT12 was at the TRSCCA and Goodguys Car Show & Autocross in downtown Nashville, TN where he found some of the best hot rods and muscle cars that the south has to offer......

For the next few car tours, we are going to be exploring the iconic high horsepower, high torque muscle cars that are currently dominating much of the grids in stateside Formula Drift events. V8 power is a big trend in US drifting; whether shoehorning a big block into a Saturn Sky chassis or building out a pony car Mustang. It's pretty challenging for a high revving turbo car to compete with these torque heavy beasts with their on tap wheel spin....

My post with the Japanese style C5 Corvette seemed to generate a fair amount of interest so, here is a shot of another Japanese take on an American icon. This beautiful 3rd generation Camaro was driving in the same event as the 'Vette from the previous post. Check the Volk Racing GT-P wheels and the JDM standard Advan A048 rubber. These cars may have a less than ideal image nowadays, but seeing a well-kept, track driven example like this one is a real treat......

With all the hype surrounding the new Dodge Challenger, it's the perfect time to enjoy some retro Mopar coolness. I saw this new '69 Dodge Superbee resin model from Bent Rod Garage on Jae Bueno's blog and I thought it was one of the coolest collectables I have seen in a long time. The models are inspired by the famous Dodge "Scat Pack" advertising from the '60s and '70s. I would love to have one of these sitting in my desk. No matter what sort of cars you are into, there's...

As one of the most iconic and cost-efficient engines of all time, the Chevrolet small block has almost literally been jammed into every type of car under the sun. From BMW's to RX7's, there are few cars that haven't been packed full of bowtie-branded muscle at some point or another. While the traditional hot rod guys may love these kind of conversions, they are also viewed as sacrilegious by outspoken brand purists. But what happens when the tables are turned? "Sacrilegious"...

In addition to being known for its automobiles, Japan is also quite famous for its fashion scene. Places like Harajuku and Shibuya in Tokyo are known worldwide for their cutting edge fashion trends. When you put cars and fashion in Japan together, you get Motor Style, a new magazine from Neko Publishing. I picked up the first issue not too long ago and I am very impressed with it. Among the features in the inaugural issue is one on Nobuhiko Kitamura's Hysteric Glamour clothing line. All of the...

Cars have been a part of my life since before I can remember. My family has pictures of me going to car shows with my dad while I was still in a stroller. Even as a toddler, I was taking notice of cars around me. My mom says that I was able to identify pickup trucks just by looking at their tailgates. I couldn't read the words on them, but somehow I could recognize the logos. I don't recall owning too many action figures growing up. Instead, my toy box was filled with Matchboxes, Hotwheels...
