It's getting more and more difficult as time goes on to sift through the amount of high quality videos these days. With the DSLR revolution, it's never been easier for amatuer film makers to produce their own interpretations of the many amazing events that happen around the world. Unfortunately we can't show every submission we receive but when you get something that really makes you take notice, it would be rude not to share. Brumos Racing Team driver Leh Keen sent us this video he shot (which was subsequently edited and put together by Porsche) of his Rolex 24 at Daytona experience. From his arrival at Daytona righ through to the chequered flag, you get a real taste of what it's like to be a professional racing driver, if only for a few minutes.

The Moby D i c k Porsche 935/78 is one of the most famous race cars ever, and it's one that's been recreated in scale form by countless diecast and plastic model brands. Taking things even further, we recently came across this incredible Moby replica built entirely out of Lego....

The legend of the Porsche 917 has it, that the car was such a frightening thing to drive, that many of the factory drivers felt a sense of relief when assigned to the lesser 908 open cockpit cars. With the 917s hitting warp speeds in excess of 240 mph at Le Mans, this isn't surprising.
Now much has been made of the 917s exploits at Le Mans but the history of the 917 at Daytona is also quite interesting too. This is especially true when you hear stories about how Pedro Rodríguez would literally drift the 917 around the superspeedway bankings. Remember back in 1970, there was no bus stop chicane on the back straight to slow the cars down. This combined with a profound lack of downforce and bia-ply tires would certainly have made for a hairy ride.
This Gulf Oil promotional video will give you a good feel for the state of motorsport in 1970, both in terms of the cars, but also the role of personality and film-making. I can't help but smile to myself when I see how formal JWA team boss John Wyer comes across in his interview. Times certainly have changed!

There are, of course, many ways to modify a Porsche but not all improve on the original package. GMG Motorsports are no strangers when it comes to tuning Porsches and now they have a complete package to turn your Porsche into a real track animal. The kit is called the GMG World Challenge track package and consists of predominantly suspension components. Their latest project is this 2011 Porsche GT3 RS that belongs to a customer in AZ. This is the 19 th car to receive the complete GMG treatment. The...

Of all the component parts of a car, only one can evoke the kind of passion that can break friendships and cause people to break out the CAPS LOCK in internet arguments - wheels! Obviously a very important component, and also one of the key styling features of all cars. The wrong choice of size or style can make or break even the world's best cars. Remember the entry level 2004 E60 BMW? Amazing car, tiny wheels and it looked odd! With such a wide and varied selection of vehicles at Autosport...

Racing is what the Autosport International Racing Car Show at the NEC complex in Birmingham is all about. As it does every year, ASI in 2012 showcased a mouth-watering line-up of cars that, given the resources, you could be walking out of the show holding keys for (or at least having the right to press the starter). This is very much a commercial show as much as it is for the fans, and a huge amount of business is done over the four days of the show. On the central stands in the main hall, current...

With the excesses of Christmas and New Year now a distant memory, the Autosport International Racing Car Show signals the build-up to the 2012 motorsport season. For my first report from Autosport I'll be taking a look around the Pistonheads Performance Car show. Porsche Club GB was my first port of call, and I was immediately grabbed by this immaculate and ultra-rare 924 Carrera GT they had on display. With only 400 produced as homologation specials, the Carrera GT is one of the ultimate incarnations...

This weekend The International Racing Car show at the sprawling NEC complex in Birmingham becomes the focus of the racing and performance car world. It's where the manufacturers often choose to launch their new models: this year Nissan and JRM officially launched the GT-R NISMO GT3 at the show. The GT3 variant lacks none of the aggression of its now-redundant GT1 big brother – and the official launch was backed up by a JRM GT-R GT3 taking third position on the grid for today's Dubai...

For the fourth and final part of my visit to Canepa Design, I want to share some of the historic machines that can be found upstairs at the Canepa Motorsports Museum. It's a collection that quite frankly puts a lot of dedicated auto museums to shame - especially if you fancy yourself a race car or two....

Now that we've had a look at the repair and restoration facilities at Canepa Design, it's time to take a little browse through the main showroom.
As you've probably gathered by now, this isn't just any car showroom. It's one filled with some of the most desirable vehicles on the planet.
Let's take a look....

In my journeys as a Speedhunter, I've had the chance to visit all sorts of car collections and shops. From gritty Hot Rod builders to factory collections with floors so clean you could eat off them, I've seen just about everything.
There was nothing, however, that could prepare me for what I saw last month when I visited Canepa Design....

While Rauh Welt has become known for producing some amazing looking Porsches, there are of course many more tuners that can turn an ‘ordinary' Porsche into a street legal beast. Take for example DP Motorsport, a company that has been on the scene since 1975. Although famous for building race cars, they've also been churning out some tough street cars like this 1973 Porsche 911. This 911 was built by DP Motorsports to demonstrate their lightweight carbon parts. First they stripped the...

As you know, Porsche is planning a return to Le Mans in 2014. We are still a couple years away from that, but that isn't stopping Porsche from promoting the legend of their Le Mans program.
Check out this cool little clip they've just released celebrating 60 years of racing at Le Mans set to some retro-themed tunes.

9ff unveiled this new version of the GT9 at the recent Essen Motor Show. It was specifically built for a customer that wanted a car that looked good and could hold its own on the track. 9ff dubbed the car CS or Club Sport. It's based on the original GT9 that was unveiled at the 2007 Essen Motor Show. The GT9 CS is an evolution of the GT9 that was built for top speed runs. After the GT9 came the GT9-R that I featured last year during the My Car Show in Dortmund. This CS is the latest addition...

Ok let's continues on with our tour of the Porsche Museum. We've already shown you the restoration workshop and the start of the main exhibition, and now we'll walk through to the finish of the displays. Our first stop packs quite the punch with a 917K being flanked by Hans Herrmann's #64 Porsche 908. This car is famous for coming second at Le Mans in 1969 to Jacky Ickx's Ford GT40 by a mere 120 meters. Is that enough dish for you? An interesting fact, for any train-spotters in...

Before we move to part two of our Porsche Museum tour , I'm going to take you for a quick look around their gift shop. It's filled with all sorts of Porsche rarities and is perfect fodder for any serious Porka memorabilia collector. The entrance to the Porsche Museum shop contains what must be the coolest 1/43 die cast display on the planet. See those graphical lines? They contain a complete collection of mini Porsche machines. I'm a bit of a predictable creature as my camera is always...

I would like to personally thank each and every one of you who have taken the time to fill out the 2011 Speedhunters Survey. While we have been operating the site based on instinctual observations for the past few years, having you tell us outright about your automotive lives has been a real eye-opening moment for us.
We've known for a long time that many of you have a deep interest in Japanese car culture, but what was more unclear to us was if you appreciate our efforts to showcase automotive content outside of this sphere....

I know I missed the boat on this one, but I hadn't watched it until recently, and I really enjoyed the series. This is part 1 of a series of videos following Gunnar Racing and thier restoration of a Porsche 917 with some interesting history. Some great insights into how detailed restorations can be, and how these monsters were originally built by Porsche. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

The customized 1/18th die cast model doesn't have the biggest following. But it does have a lot of die hard hobbyists taking completely stock models and modifying them to however they see fit which results in some truly spectacular results. Chris Lee is one of those guys. And since you can't just go out and buy 1/18th scale aftermarket parts, Chris meticulously modifies or hand makes everything for his models. I don't even want to ask how many hours Chris spends molding, shaping, sanding...
