Honda's new CR-Z has only been on sale in Japan for a couple of weeks now, and already tuners are jumping into the fray to see what they can do with the "Sports Hybrid". Spoon's CR-Z has already been outfitted with uprgaded brakes, suspension, wheels, an exhaust system and an ECU tune. Seems quite promising so far. Spotted over at Autoblog . -Mike Garrett

Reader's Month might be over, but we are always looking for cool reader-owned vehicles or guest blogs to post up.
Here we have a JDM-spec Mitsubishi FTO GPX that belongs to reader Jacob of Australia. The FTO might not be the most popular platform around, but you have to love the 2.0L V6 that revs all the way up to 8250 RPM.
Cool car, Jacob!

The last time I was over at Amuse I saw, probably for the last time, one of the most legendary cars that the late Tanabe-san had every built, the Carbon-R. Tanabe-san wanted to create the ultimate time attack R34 GT-R by taking inspiration from the Super GT R34 GT-Rs. This meant a very responsive and torquey engine and a lot of weigh loss which was achieved through the full dry carbon body and the conversion to rear-wheel-drive. I only saw the Carbon-R in action once at Fuji when Tanabe-san took...

Been holding on to this special picture for a while now. March 4th, so this is the perfect time to post it up. This group shot was taken with a few of my friend's R34s, mine is the one in the middle with the bronze wheels. -Dino Dalle Carbonare

It may be day late, but this R31 is worth the delay. Ken lives in Okinawa and sent us a photo of his R31, which just happens to be his first car. Over 14 years of ownership, Ken has swapped in an RB26 (with a T88 turbine), S15 and R33 suspension, and R32 GT-R brakes just to name a few things. Outside it has R31 House FRP trunk and hood, a Racing Silhouette aero kit, and bolt-on over fenders.
Ken uses the car as his daily driver and for the occasional drag race event.
Awesome.

My first contribution to this Skyline week was supposed to be an R31 gathering, a meeting that never actually materialized! Not sure if it was the rain that kept people home but I haven't seen Daikoku that empty in a long time! So to make up for it I though I'd post this random shot of a very clean R31 Skyline I shot in the parking lot of the old Red Park Prince & Skyline Museum in Mitsukaido, Ibaraki-ken. Tonight it's down to the Daikoku PA again, I hope this time round I will not...

Well to kick off the Skyline week form over here in Japan I though I'd post a shot I took back in 2000 at one of the biggest Skyline-only track days I ever been to. The location as you can see is Tsukuba circuit, which aside from a small new building in the paddock hasn't really changed much! Back then I was still shooting with film! This is going to be a great week! -Dino Dalle Carbonare

I have had a thing for the R30 for a while now. The more I see these angular eighties Skylines the more I like them and this particular example sporting massive overfenders has to be one of the coolest I have come across. I have no idea who it belongs to but from the license plate it's from southern Japan. Absolutely stunning! -Dino Dalle Carbonare

This past weekend was quite the automotive odyssey. I spent two days at Willow Springs International Raceway and a day at Buttonwillow Racetrack for Hellaflush 3.5. While at Willow Springs on Saturday, I spotted this very clean example of a drift FC RX-7 at an event on the balcony skid pad. Who knows how long it'll last being that clean, but the deep red + white Enkei RPF-1 wheels is a classic color combination and just looks fantastic! Coverage from Hellaflush 3.5 at Buttonwillow is coming very...

Just found this picture of a not so standard looking KGC110 GT-R. It appears to have a side exit exhaust that could hint at something special under the bonnet. Other cool parts include the spoiler and Watanabe's with semi slick tires wrapped around them. I also like the fact that the owner has painted the arch extensions the same color as the body of the car. Normally you would see them in black, but this just shows that it can look cool when painted. -Jeroen Willemsen Spotted on Al's Car...

There's just something about cars with flames coming out of their exhausts. This one has been prepared by Fluid MotorUnion . They have constructed a complete custom stainless exhaust for this application. -Jeroen Willemsen

I saw this over at the r32taka blog and thought this would be a perfect companion piece to Mad Mike's Madbull snow drifting that we've all been seeing lately. It maybe understeering, but oh does it look hard doing it. -Linhbergh

Just saw some cool shots of this Scion xB on wheresneek . It belongs to one of the members at bB Squad. Taking photos is one thing but finding a cool location to shoot them is a whole different ball game. It all depends on where you live I guess. -Jeroen Willemsen

Just saw this Dodge Charger on the Stanceworks forum . It made me stop looking for some other material and I just stared for a while, I swear. I'm not a fan of muscle cars, but this particular one just felt different. The wheels are a big part of this car appearance. Some of you could have identified them as a set from a Dodge Viper, they come in size 22X10 with +22 all-round and they are wrapped with 256/30/22 Yokohama's. The owner is working on making the car go even lower with a set of...
