From rotaries we move onto some S-chassis, but since there weren't that many this year I've decided to combine Fairlady Zs to the post too, once again an all-Nissan selection! We start off with the R.Y.O. S13 "Odyvia" which I already ran a spotlight on back in October , when I first laid eyes on it at the D1 final in Fuji. It's as wild looking from every angle and proof that things down in the south of Japan are done a little differently. You can always expect to find nice rides...

We are well into S-ichi-go day, and this is a car I've been holding onto, waiting for the perfect occasion to feature it. When it comes to clean, street-tuned Silvias there aren't many that I've come across that are quite as fresh as this ARMS example. These are the kind of cars that always stand out the most to me, rides that offer the "complete package" as you will, a perect mix of performance and usability on the road. ARMS built this car to participate in time attack events...

As far as the S15 goes, to me there are two famous cars that come to mind. One is Yasuyuki Kazama's green car and the other is the HKS S15 driven by NOB Taniguchi. It was hard to pick one over the other, so why not go with both? Here's a cool clip of the two iconic Silvias going at it at Sugo back in 2004.
With today's world of super high speed drift courses, it's hard to remember that D1GP once ran on what was essentially a go kart track...

It's January 5th and that means it's time to celebrate the last of the S-chassis cars, the S15.
As expected, the S15 had the lowest numbers by far in reader ride submissions. Maybe there would be more if Nissan didn't decide that the US wasn't worthy of this car?
Anyway, here are the S15s!...

I have always been a fan of Nobuteru Taniguchi's red Vertex S15 . But I truly became hooked when T&E debuted the new Vertex Edge bodykit on the S15 and repainted it in pearl white. This car just oozes style and has to be one of the best looking S15s in the world. -Jeroen Willemsen S Chassis Festival 2012

Imai-san at Bee Racing noticed I was drooling over the shiny blue S15 Silvia sitting in the middle of his workshop during my last visit there. It's not every day that you come across a car like this, a project that someone has obviously poured a lot of time and effort into. If you sum up the sheer investment that has gone into sourcing some of the best parts out there, it wouldn't surprise as much as what the car is worth on the second hand market. Turns out the owner has just sold this Silvia...

I hope you've been enjoying all of the time attack builds and news articles that we've been posting on Speedhunters lately. With WTAC just a couple months away, the competing international teams have been busy preparing their cars before they need to be packed in containers and shipped to Australia. One such team is Scorch Racing, who have rebuilt their world famous S15 after its little incident racing Tsukuba at the start of the year. In this photo you can see the revised engine has been...

I've been holding off on this spotlight for a couple of reasons, let alone the fact I know this car will seriously divide opinions. Maybe the Nascar inspired graphics mightened be to everyones taste or the fact the Rota haters will be out in force but if I can just please get you to look past these details, there is a pretty amazing car here. The wing may be huge and unsightly ... ... but it works. By connecting the wing directly to the chassis, the car is provided with an effective aerodynamic...

The Nissan S15 is still a dream car for many including myself. So every time I see one I will check it out in great detail. Fortunately I see more and more Silvias popping up at shows. At the latest Automaxx Streetpower event, I spotted this very special version. It seemed that the car belonged to JB-Tuning, a company I did business with in the past. While I was shooting the car Ron, the owner, walked out and we started talking about Speedhunters and the car. In stock form the car already looks great...

Kazama over at Kazama Auto is putting the final touches on Tanaka's new D1-GP machine, a 2JZ powered S15 Silvia. There are already a few pictures of the car floating around on the company's website but it did look a bit plain without a full livery. The S15 is now at Art Factory getting the graphics applied and will eventually look something along what you see above. With Round 1 in Odaiba having been moved to the first weekend of June, following the earthquake, this year's opening round...

If you ever wondered what driving a close to 700 HP S15 around Tsukuba feels like from the driver's seat this video should give you a close enough idea. This was filmed during the final round of the Battle Evome series, so you can see when the engine of the Scorch S15 finally lets go. Next time we will see this car in action will be in Australia at the WTAC!

I knew it the moment I noticed this S15 enter the show floor during the Thursday set up day that I was seeing something special. The last time I saw a car created by Super Made I had exactly the same reaction, back in 2009 at the Nagoya Exciting Car Showdown upon seeing their Y34 SR20-powered Gloria. The man behind Super Made, Yoshida-san obviously knows a thing or two about creating unique styles and doing the impossible, coming up with something new! This latest Silvia demo car joins countless...

In many respects this is probably the most impressive car to ever be built in Japan. Forget all your high-budget, tuner-built, time attack machines that we have been seeing at events like the Lap Battle for years, as those cars don't even come close to this very special S15. Sure many might be faster, barely, but what makes this particular car different is that it isn't built to smash records in the pursuit of worldwide recognition. The only thing Suzuki-san, the owner, is after is personal...

The crew at 326 Power have been known to built some crazy machines. Most of the times it is a love or hate thing, but they don't care, they just built what is in their eyes the ultimate car. There is no denying this car will cause some controversy but at least it can drift as shown in this video . -Jeroen Willemsen Taken from SceneMedia

For most of us it is pretty rare to see an actual GT300 car in the flesh and it is even rarer seeing one outside of Japan. But what if you got the opportunity to buy one? Sometimes it helps when you have contacts in Japan that think of you when they have something special. This happened to Radni Molhampour, the owner of the car, when he got a text message from Rick that runs draganddrift.com . At first Radni had no idea what to expect, after seeing a few pictures he thought it was a just a tuned...

As we wind up our 72-hour celebration of the Nissan S-chassis, I wanted to dig through my archive and post one more cool Silvia from Japan.
This S15 was spotted at an MSC event at Nikko Circuit in September '08.
As if we needed any more examples of how this S15 is awesome....

Back in August last year, I came across this car at the penultimate round of Scandinavian Drift Series in Arhus, Denmark. When Marc from Worksmag showed me around the paddock on the night I arrived, this car instantly caught my eye. I am so used to seeing busted up driftcars that when I saw this example sporting a Kazama Promode kit, I just had to make a mental note to grab a shoot that weekend. It's driven by Jacob Hogh Hansen from Denmark for Jock's Drift Team which includes this car that...

In December I had the chance to attend the local JDMST monthly meet held in Brisbane. These monthly events seem to be growing in popularity, attracting more and more car enthusiasts each time they are held. My camera was immediately drawn to Chris Pang's white on white S15, which was one of the standout cars. Yesterday I met up with Chris to do a quick spotlight on his S15; just in time for our S-Chassis Festival. Chris purchased the vehicle just over 12 months ago and I am sure you will agree...

Making a car better than it was intended by the makers is hard thing to do. But I have a feeling that Toby Broadfield , the owner of this car, has come very close. The list of things that Toby has done to this car is endless and I can only scratch the surface in this spotlight. So I'll start right away. The first items that caught my eye are the massive Work S1 wheels. They are three piece items in 18"x9.5 +12 at the front and 18"x11 +30 in the rear. The original lug nuts have been...

While organizing the shots I took up at Ebisu during the WDSC event, I came across this snap of Kevin Delhaye's D1 Street Legal S15 Silvia. The French pro drifter sourced the car from Okachan at Yashio Factory and took it back to France with him giving it a full color change...but the pink mirrors remain to hint at what it once was. Hopefully we will see Kevin out in more Street Legal rounds during the 2011 season. -Dino Dalle Carbonare
