While I was navigating my way through the SEMA Show yesterday, I spent most of the morning yawning from lack of enthusiasm for the cars I was looking at. The first hall I went through had me rolling my eyes pretty frequently - I was certainly disappointed with the lack of style on the cars in the first hall I walked through. Wow, I didn't see this one coming! Apparently, the folks at Scion are very happy with the way things have been going thus far in their inaugural season of Formula Drift. Kenshiro Gushi and his RS*R Scion TC finished in 14th place in the 2008 Formula D rankings, appearing in the Top 16 tandem drift competition at four different Formula D Championship round events. Even though I may or may not be known as Chris Rado the "drag racer", I'm going to shed a little light on another passion of mine - time attack. July 26th and 27th was the Redline Time Attack in Nashville, Tennessee at the Nashville Super Speedway. I was super excited as well along with the WORLD Racing team to be going to this event, especially since the at last two consecutive time attack events we had taken 1st place. I was ready to do it again, and I know the rest of my guys were too. Even though Nashville Super Speedway is a tighter and shorter track then I'm used to - meaning I'd be using a lot of second and third gear coming out of turns, which is typically more difficult in a high horsepowered, heavy, FWD car such as our tC - I was up for the challenge....

A few weeks back, myself and the rest of the WORLD Racing team headed to Atco, New Jersey for the Battle of the Imports. This was our first Battle of the Imports event in almost three years. The team and I had high hopes for this event at our home track. We were going out with a new clutch in the PRO FWD NOS Energy Drink WORLD Racing Scion tC for the first time this year. I have debated writing this post a few times, but I've gone ahead and you now have the same dilemma with reading it...or not! Why could I not decide on posting this? Chris Rado is one of those individuals you only meet very rarely in life who appears to have enough energy and charisma to fuel a small army. The guy has extra batteries you know? Well, at any rate he's putting this energy to good use and is funneling it into his various drag, time attack and show car projects like this 500bhp Scion TC Time Attack monster. I know that you all know the results of Formula D Round 1 by now. However, I thought I'd just share some "lifestyle pics" so you all know what it was like to be at the actual event! Check it out...
