Ben Schaffer from The Real JDM had some interesting posts regarding rear mounted radiators. I have featured a few cars with the same setup. Ben posted a few pictures of the Top Secret build V12 Supra. This car also has a rear mounted radiator but instead of removing all the interior parts, this car still has all the luxuries. ‘Smokey' Nagata made a real effort to build a car that is still drivable on a daily basis and looks good doing so. This car really pushes the boundaries on many levels...

When I was looking for some photo's of The Athens Tuning Show I came across a topic on the Driftworks forum, one of the posters there posted a nice collection of photo's of the event. The Athens Tuning Show is the biggest car event in Greece, it's a mix between new cars from manufacturers and tuners from Europe. Together with the indoor show they also have a action arena outside where you can see drifters and some other special acts. This year, same as last year, Team Orange made an appearance...

I noticed we didn't had a lot of Toyota Supra's on Speedhunters. It's not that we don't like the car, but its hard to find a really nice example. I think I have found one. The car has some nice features like the Top Secret carbon diffuser and the red color coded rims. Not sure on the make of the wheels but I'm sure you guys can help me out. I haven't seen a lot of white Supra's but this one pulls it off very nicely. It also works very well with the red wheels. -Jeroen...

My first taste of Time Attack in the UK came last weekend when the circus came to the Brands Hatch Indy Circuit. I have already featured the Zen Performance Impreza on SpeedHunters but the Sainted Editor, still in steamy Japan, requested a gallery feature on the Pro Class event. So it would seem appropriate to start with the car that ran a consistent second to the Zen effort, the Lotus Elise of Steve Guglielmi which turned in a time only 3/10ths shy of the record breaking Impreza....

I was asked recently to pour over some JDM magazines and get a feel for them. I have to say, I love seeing the high level of tune on the JDM rides in the magazines. They have such a diverse scene over there. Truth be told, the majority of the drift scene appears to revolve around Nissan Silvia's and 1 & 2-JZ powered Toyotas, but there is also a fair bit of coverage to be had on the other players in the scene as well. Drift Tengoku as a magazine drops right into the mix as a more feature focused...

Gatebil is one of the biggest event organizers in Sweden and surrounding countries. They organize a lot of track days were drift and grip cars can go up against each other in a controlled environment. The event was held on Mantorp Park which lies in Sweden; but the cars themselves are off course the most important thing, so here is a small selection the different cars present at the event. A brand new BMW E92 M3 is already being put through its paces. The number one qualifier during round three of...

Sturup Raceway in Sweden was the home for round three of the European Prodrift Series this past weekend. It turned out to be an epic battle between the Nordic drifters from Finland, Denmark and Sweden and the Irish Prodrifters. The above Toyota Supra driven by Norways's Fredric Aasbo was the real revelation of the day; qualifying first with a score of 95.67 points....

Given it's small size, Japan has a TON of racing circuits, but for fans of some good old fashioned drag racing action, the amount of drag strips in Japan is far less than their twisty counterparts. The Kanto area in particular lacks any real drag strip so most Kanto draggers have to travel all the way up to Sendai Highland in northern Japan's Miyagai Prefecture tp get their fix. Fortunately TRUST has come to the rescue with their Zeroyon drag racing events. "Zeroyon" is the Japanese...

Shooting this angle was particularly satisfying. The sun had just gone down in front of the camera, lighting up the distant sky. The cars staging behind the camera were casting their headlight beams onto the car, making it punch out in the foreground. Everything came together, right then and there....

As one of the most iconic and cost-efficient engines of all time, the Chevrolet small block has almost literally been jammed into every type of car under the sun. From BMW's to RX7's, there are few cars that haven't been packed full of bowtie-branded muscle at some point or another. While the traditional hot rod guys may love these kind of conversions, they are also viewed as sacrilegious by outspoken brand purists. But what happens when the tables are turned? "Sacrilegious"...

Okay, if this is the first time you've ever heard of RiceboyTV, you're probably thinking, "WHAT?! Are they serious? What kind of lousy name is that for a website?"

Yes, I may be speaking a bit bluntly right now, but come on. Let's just be real with each other here! I know that's what I personally thought, the first time Super Street Magazine's former Editor-In-Chief, John "Nads' Naderi told me the name of his new online media project. You're probably thinking the same thing I was... wait, is this a website about cars? Why on earth would they spend that much money on developing an awesome new media venture like this, and then call it something ridiculous like RiceboyTV?! Maybe that's because all the cool names like "Speedhunters" were already taken? LOL!

Whatever the case may be, we need to give the guys at RiceboyTV their props - what they've done is develop a rich media website featuring the same sort of content you may have seen in Super Street - it's just revamped and brought to you live in the form of photos, short stories, and streaming video. As Speedhunters' own Rod Chong put it, "it's almost like an internet TV channel, all about cars." Of course, since John Naderi is the captain of this ship, he has his staff of ex-Super Streeters dressing up in Chinese outfits, doing amusing skits in their own style of humor... and they even feature an occasional hot female or two.

Check out one of their newest videos for coverage on the 2008 Toyotafest in Long Beach CA - it also has special appearances from industry giant Troy Sumitomo of 5 Axis, and good friends of the Speedhunters family, Eric and Marc from Twins Turbo Motorsports.

Until next time, "Stay away from the dyno shootouts!" LOL

PS: If you like the idea of Riceboy TV, but American muscle and hot rods are more your thing... then be sure to check out their sister site, CarJunkie TV, which is spearheaded by David Freiburger, former Editor-in-Chief of Hot Rod Magazine!
