Rallycross holds special memories for me. As a kid in the '80s I remember being taken down to Brands Hatch, my local track, on chilly winter mornings with mist rising and the frosty ground hard underfoot. The crowds would be packed in around the temporary course made up of sections of the Indy circuit and gravel paths cut through the in-field – and the wickedly fast, horribly bumpy straight across the back of the South Bank parking area. We'd be treated to the short, sharp shock of...

Speedhunters: You are a man that usually needs no introduction in the automotive world. But for those that don't know who you are, just who the heck are you? Tanner: I'm a car enthusiast who has been lucky enough to make driving my profession. Speedhunters: Can you talk about how you got involved with all your latest ventures this year? Tanner: Over the last seven years of drifting I've worked hard to spread the news about the sport that I owe so much to and to promote the idea that drivers...

Continuing on with my look at the rally competition from X Games 16, we move on to elimination action on Saturday afternoon. As we'd soon find out, the biggest hurdle for the drivers wouldn't be their fellow competitors, but the course itself. ...

Most of the people on the FD grid completely dislike going to the Wall Speedway. Everyone refers to it as "the toilet bowl" for the fact that when it rains, water has no where to go but to just sit in the bowl waiting to evaporate. But they all have good reason not to like the track; it is the most run down looking stop on the FD calendar, it is the stop on the calendar that has the least amount of spectators, the asphalt is literally falling apart, and the transition from the banking into...

Everyone has their own opinions on Tanner Foust and his car but one thing everyone can agree on is that Mr. Foust is a man of immense talent. Check out this mightily impressive, and equally insane, backwards entry at the Road Atlanta Formula D course. It is something we've only seen Japanese drivers do! Well, until now at least.

It is said that there is a new Great Wall of China, this time to keep the virtual barbarians on the internet out of the People's Republic. Well, such technical matters are way beyond a humble scribe such as I, but if such a thing does exist then Tanner Foust may have brought it home with him after his visit to Beijing last month. How else would you be able to explain the time it has taken for this interview to reach SpeedHunters Towers in Vancouver? Never mind as ever he is worth listening to...

With yesterday's season finale at Irwindale Speedway, the fifth season of Formula Drift is in the books and that means in addition to the series champ, 16 of the drivers for next month's Red Bull World Drifting Championship have also been finalized. Before getting into the season standings, congrats must go to our own Vaughn Gittin Jr. for his win at Irwindale which marked his first career victory in Formula D. More congrats should go to rising driver Justin Pawlak for taking third place in his FC3S and of course to Tanner Faust for second place in the event and more notably his second consecutive Formula D championship....
