I was browsing one of my favorite forums, ClubRoadster.net the other day when I found a thread about an LS1-powered Mazda Miata drag car out of Mississippi. Now any time you combine a light weight rear-drive car with a powerful V8 the potential for awesomeness arises, but I noticed something about this car that I don't think the builder intended - it's likeliness to sports car-based drag cars of the '60s....

I have posted pictures of this car before on my own blog . But I haven't seen any progress since, so I was hoping that the Speedhunters audience could shed some light what happened with this E30 twin turbo V8. So does anybody have any info on this car? Please let me know in the comments. -Jeroen Willemsen

After reading some of the comments on this feature (yes I do read all of your comments). Jacek pointed me into the direction of this awesome Hillclimb car. I must say I was very impressed by this car and even more so after seeing this video . The car belongs to Team Edlinger and has been build by Koppe Engineering in Austria. The base car is a BMW E30, but as you can see it has been transformed into a formidable racecar. The aero modifications are insane and remind me of the DTM cars we see nowadays...

At the recent Concourse event in Pebble Beach, Infiniti revealed the first renderings of the all new 2011 M Sedan. Using a clay model with projected with computer images, Infiniti certainly chose a classy place to show off their new flagship. With a bold new styling and more displacement under the hood, the new M should improve on what's already one of the best performing Japanese luxury sedans around....

Even if you don't approve the engine under the hood, you have to admit to yourself that this car is seriously sexy. If you've seen the movie "Lost in Translation," there's a part when actress, Scarlett Johansson, is pracing around her hotel room in her panties. That was a moment of the purist form of falling in love. That same feeling applies to this very car. Darkness still blankets the world when you wake up and get out of bed. The minute that your toes touch the floor, you're wide awake. There's no sensation of grogginess or tiredness. As you wipe your eyes, the thought of how the rest of the world still sleeping at this very moment flashes through your mind. It makes you smile, and you quickly get dressed. The attire does not matter since your destination does not require for your pre-dawn fashion senses to awaken just yet. As you step outside...

It seems that Falken is heavenly involved in drifting around the world; I've lost count of all the cars that are sponsored by them. What I do know, is that this is one of them that comes from Holland. The car has been seen before on Speedhunters, but back then it was orange and had a sort of Ferrari Testarossa bodykit. Remmo wasn't real happy with how the car looked in the end so he decided that a new bodykit was in order. While in the process of updating the car, he also secured a deal with...

I was browsing through the Car Lounge forum on VWVortex when I came across a thread with buildup photos of an LS1-powered E36 M3 in Idaho. When the owner found out that his M3 had a bent frame, he purchased a new one and then began to convert the old chassis into a V8-powered track/drift car. The car's LS1 is sporting mild modifications at this point, but the addition of nitrous is planned in the future. The majority of the building is done and just a few finishing touches are still needed to complete the project....

While looking for information on the Prodrift series a few days ago, I came across this hybrid car. I have heard a lot about the LS2 engine and people wanting to put into their car, seems like there are many advantages to running a big torque engine...... Personally, I'm not very familiar with the LS2 engine or any other engine derived from it..... All I know is that this engine came out of a Vauxhall Monaro (Vauxhall is part of the GM group and is also called a Opel in other countries) and the...

Our friends at 7Tune have posted a ton of new info about the upcoming Nissan Fairlady Z34 AKA 370Z. According to Best Car magazine, the new Z may be getting a high performance version powered by one of Nissan's V8 engines. A factory V8-powered Z? It seems surprising at first, but when you think of all the platform sharing that goes on at Nissan its not terribly hard to fetch. This high performance version of the Z may also have a unique front fascia that pays homage to the "G-nose" that was found on the the original S30Z. The G-nose would match up quite well with the new Z's retro inspired styling. Even in more basic form, it appears that the Z34 will be quite a machine as the 3.7L V6 found in the Skyline Coupe/Infinti G37 is already a very potent unit. Combined with the rumored weight savings of the new Z, this car looks to have very high performance potential......

It's no secret that I love Lexus brand vehicles. So of course I was excited when I heard that Discount Tire Direct and Falken Tire would be working together to campaign a Lexus IS350 in the Formula Drift Series. When I first saw the mockups of the graphic scheme (it was shown to me by a Falken employee before the car had its graphics applied), I wasn't too thrilled to be honest. I dislike the arch looking graphic on the side of the car, it doesn't do any justice to the car's naturally...
