Here's a couple video clips that "Sassy", the owner of the IMSA-styled SA22C RX7 sent to us.

Besides the sights and sounds of the RX7, you can also catch a glimpse of many other Japanese classics running on the famous Suzuka Circuit.

Thanks a lot, Sassy!

Following the teaser film of the new M3 GTS BMW released last week on its Youtube Channel, I was happy to find two additional videos of the new car today. With a 400 pound weight reduction and a V8 motor stroked to 4.4L the 450HP M3 GTS takes over from where the E46 M3 CSL left off. These are the kinds of cars I love, rear seats eliminated to give space for the half-roll cage, adjustable suspension and upgraded brakes. The GTS is currently on offer only in Europe but there is a good chance BMW will consider other markets. I'm sure I'll be seeing personally imported GTS' in the future at Tsukuba or Fuji!

If you were wondering what video I was talking about in my Retrospective about Taniguchi, this is it, shot by a couple of friends of his that really struggled to keep up with him!

Just saw this small video in which a girl pays cash for a ride in a BMW M3. At first I thought it was a video made by BMW to promote their brand, but in fact it is made by some individuals with a very keen eye. Maybe this can work as inspiration for some of the videographers we have featured on Speedhunters.

Everything's bigger in Texas, even the tandem drift trains. This was shot at the first-ever Lonestar Bash, held last weekend at Mineral Wells in the heart of Texas.

Very good stuff here.

Check out this video of Jamie Corstorphine of Autocar magazine behind the wheel of the LF-A. That V10 is a true screamer!

Chris Davy, a reader from Romania sent us a few clips of a Romanian drifter who goes by the name of "Tengu". Romania's drift scene is very small, but Tengu has competed in events all over Europe and even holds a BDC license. He's also drifted in South Africa, where the above clip was shot (he's the one in the white R33).

Anyone else think the track in the video bares a little resemblance to Irwindale Speedway?

Just found this video in which you can see Sean McInerney lapping Silverstone in a BMW M1 Procar. It has been shot in HD so I suggest you turn up your sound system and listen to that straight six scream. The engine sound is one of the best in the world.

I just found this video link at James Allen's excellent F1 blog. Abu Dhabi will likely be the scene of the 2009 F1 title showdown and you can get a sense of the track layout in this video of Bruno Senna taking a F1 two seater around the glistening new circuit. Check out that crazy pit lane exit!

Another awesome video by the guys behind Wagenwerks, they used their editing tools to good use. It really shows that practice makes perfect. The AWOL theme stands for Air & Water On Land, that's some creative thinking.

While we were in Imola as guests of the BMW WTCC team last month, we shot a film about former multiple Touring Car World Champion, Andy Priaulx which we'll be releasing shortly. He's also been writing a guest blog for Speedhunters about his twin BMW racing weekends at Imola and Road Atlanta, but right now he's in Australia racing at the Bathurst 1000 kms.

It's one of these marque international events that we'll need to Speedhunt one of these years. In the meantime, here's a great vintage video from Bathurst showing the R32 "Godzilla" showing the competition how it's done!

As I get ready to head down to Fuji Speedway for the D1 Grand Prix double-rounder final this week-end, I thought this little clip might begin to get us all back in drifting mode. I was actually on the apex of that corner in Okayama this June and what Kawabata was doing looked pretty amazing. But seeing it form this angle makes you really appreciate the pure skill involved in a maneuver like this. If I recall correctly most drivers were throwing thert cars sideway with a flick of the handbrake at around 110 mph. Insane!

Our buddy Luke over in Japan has been hard at working putting together new a film documenting the drift experience, and he's just released a lengthy trailer for the project.

Naturally, the film features a lot of the Japanese drift cars and tracks that we love so much with an emphasis on the grassroots side of things.

It also reminds me how much I miss going to drift events in the motherland!

Watch the trailer, then check out more at http://www.wearedrift.com/.

Here's a short, but sweet clip from Will Roegge showcasing a drift event hosted by WORKS Motorsports in Northern California. Besides all of the sideways Evo action, keep an eye out for a cameo by the Slam Burglars Miata.

A nice view of the recent JDM All Stars event at Silverstone through the eye of Al Clark.

Plenty of BMW's here to stay on theme as well...

Enjoy!

This footage to me, seems a bit inconceivable, as I'm only used seeing F1 cars hammering around the streets of Monaco.... not a field of M1s!

The race was won by a certain Niki Lauda BTW...

In case anyone hasn't seen it (this is from well before the YouTube era) here's Guy Ritchie's BMW promo film from the early 2000s featuring Clive Owen, Madonna, and most importantly the E39 M5.

I remember watching this in high school and thinking it was the coolest thing in the world. Maybe it still is.

Just got this note in from the Twins Turbo crew:

"Guys, just a quick note. The Viper project we have been working on for the last year is up and running. Shane Tecklenburg has been on the DynaPack with the car all day and we are looking good to go. Results so far are 950 WHP and 806 TQ at 4 psi of boost."

We'll be following the car's progress at the Silver State Classic (they are entering the 1 mile event) with interest!

Here is a video that Ken Block sent me this morning of himself and fellow rally driver Chris Atkinson having some fun in Ken's 1978 Ford Escort. Under the hood sits a 2.4-liter, four-cylinder Millington engine that boasts 280 BHP. It also is setup with WRC-styled paddle shifting and a six-speed sequential gearbox. I think this video does an incredible job of capturing the definition of fun!
