Of all the component parts of a car, only one can evoke the kind of passion that can break friendships and cause people to break out the CAPS LOCK in internet arguments - wheels! Obviously a very important component, and also one of the key styling features of all cars. The wrong choice of size or style can make or break even the world's best cars. Remember the entry level 2004 E60 BMW? Amazing car, tiny wheels and it looked odd! With such a wide and varied selection of vehicles at Autosport...

You guys seemed to enjoy my Wheelhunting post from the Rennsport Reunion, so last weekend during my visit to Famoso Raceway for the California Hot Rod Reunion I figured I should do the same. ...

As I navigated the paddock at the Rennsport Reunion overwhelmed with Porsche race cars from every era, I started taking notice of the different sorts of wheels outfitted to these racing machines. I then figured it might be fun to do a little gallery showing some of the cool rollers I came across....

While I was busy shooting at the Automaxx Streetpower event in Holland another event was happening in Belgium. The event was called Heaven On Wheels and took place inside a parking garage. I was told this was a must attend event but I haven't invented something to be at two places at the same time so I was lucky that Ronald Veth from RPMvison offered me some of his shots to show you guys. This Golf reminded me of a car that Paddy featured not too long ago. Although it isn't as extreme as...

It's not a big stretch to say that a car is made by the wheels it sits upon.
When it comes to the vintage Japanese car scene in particular, the wheels are just as important as the cars themselves.
Keeping this in mind, I decided to put together a gallery of nothing but wheels from last Sunday's Japanese Classic Car Show....

Just saw this Dodge Charger on the Stanceworks forum . It made me stop looking for some other material and I just stared for a while, I swear. I'm not a fan of muscle cars, but this particular one just felt different. The wheels are a big part of this car appearance. Some of you could have identified them as a set from a Dodge Viper, they come in size 22X10 with +22 all-round and they are wrapped with 256/30/22 Yokohama's. The owner is working on making the car go even lower with a set of...

This fresh looking Golf MK4 was spotted at the recent Westside Show in the UK. You see a lot of rims that come from higher end cars ending up on cars in the VW community. This time the owner of this Golf got himself a set of wheels from the Porsche Turbo. It just shows that a design that has been made exclusively for a Porsche also works wonders on other cars. -Jeroen Willemsen Picture taken from Tej's flickr stream

I have no idea who made this, but it's an impressive mash-up of vintage Japanese wheels (many of which I can't even identify).
How cool would it be to have something like this in wall size for your garage, house, or apartment?
Spotted in the always poppin' "Dope Sh*tzzz!" thread on Clubroadster.net.

We already had a look at some of the popular Japanese "racing" wheels, as well as plenty of vintage Japanese wheels, and now it is time to finish up this "Cool Japanese Wheels" series with a glimpse into the world of high end multi-piece and other "lipped" wheels that can be found on everything from Rauh Welt Porsches' to VIP sedans and wagons. Nearly every Japanese wheel manufacturer offers wheels to this market and new models are appearing all the time. There are so many different models of wheels out there, so as in the other posts I will be sticking to the more well known wheel models in attempt to give an intro for some of the folks who might not be familiar with this stuff....

Now it's time to continue our look at iconic Japanese wheels with a venture into the world of one-piece racing wheels. Known for their high quality, light weights, and stylish designs, these wheels can be found all over the world and their styles have been imitated time and time again. Even people who are not into Japanese tuning should be familiar with wheels like the Volk TE37 and Advan RS. Besides being found on tuned Japanese cars worldwide, the quality of these wheels is good enough to be used by owners of high end non-Japanese cars like Porsche 911's and BMW M3's, and even Corvette Z06's....

It's no secret that we talk about wheels a lot here on Speedhunters. I mean they are probably the most important component in how a car looks, right? Some people say that wheels to a car are like shoes to a person, but in my opinion the importance of having decent wheels on a car is more important than the shoes someone is wearing. I came up with the idea of doing individual posts about our favorite wheels from all over the world, but before we do that, I want to just give a quick rundown of some of the most popular Japanese wheels from the early days up until now. What better to start with than the iconic vintage wheels that have remained popular from their introduction all the way to the present?...

Typically, Japanese cars like the Evo X look best when equipped with Japanese aftermarket wheels, but this car shows that is not always the case. The wheels on this particular car are from Complete Custom Wheel (CCW). The wheels in this photo are known as the CCW Classic, a popular wheel for Corvette owners who participate in motorsports. I think they look fantastic. What about you guys?...
